Solitary Resort Ella

Fantastic host! I cannot say enough about how wonderful the host was. I suddenly fell ill and he helped me with food, water, medical needs, transportation- everything! Beautifully kept, spacious, clean, comfortable. The best I have experienced in Sri Lanka. Included things like fridge, kettle, hair dryer and a hand towel which is the first I’ve encountered in Sri Lanka. Breakfast was delicious and over the top! Thank you so much for everything 🙏😊

The most beautiful room with a balcony overlooking Ella’s Rock, the host was amazing, answered all our questions, gave us so much help for our time in Ella and made the yummiest breakfast! Would 100% recommend.

I can’t rate this accommodation highly enough! If you’re coming to Ella, this is an amazing place to stay. The host, Dileepa, was incredibly kind and helpful- he picked us up from the train station free of charge, did our laundry (only charging for water, not making a profit), arranged a scooter rental, and even helped organise our transport to the next destination. He truly went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and stress-free. The breakfast each morning was delicious as well. Highly recommend!

Dileepa is the most friendly person we met in Sri Lanka (and we met a lot of friendly people). We really loved this place and wished we could have stayed longer! The rooms are big and the terrace is also very nice with an amazing view

It’s quite far from Ella city center (about 25 mins walk or 8 mins by tuktuk), but in return you get an amazing view and you are surrounded by nature

This homestay has super spacious, modern rooms, with a fan, small fridge and tea/ coffee making station in the room. It had a mosquito net over the bed. Lovely soft, white linen, with comfortable pillows and double bed. There were lovely bedside lamps, a modern bathroom with a hair dryer, and a lovely open veranda to sit on overlooking the forest area. I was warmly welcomed upon my arrival. The descent to the homestay must be walked down and up again, and it is rather steep. I highly recommend this happy homestay.

Just to mention, the walk-in shower floor was extremely slippery, so I would suggest a rubber bathroom mat be placed under the shower to prevent anyone slipping!!

The place is absolutely amazing! The host is amazing, such a kind man!! When I went to the city the first time, he took me to the center and told me the fair price of the tuktuk, so I don’t get scammed. He also told me that if they tried to scam me, I should call him to pick me up. Host was always available and kind, extremely respectful, hospitable, and professional, making the place perfect for solo female travellers. Amazingly clean, it was the first accommodation where I didn’t use flip flops, because it was immaculate. The mosquito net is great addition! Also, the room is huge! The terrace is beautiful. Breakfast is typical Sri Lankan and is served on the terrace, which has a nice mountain view! Photos are very accurate. I would say the place is even better in reality! It’s really been a long time since I was this impressed with a place and the host:)

Great place, super breakfast and servis, nice personal and quite location in the green.

The lazy chairs on the terrace (with magnificent jungle view, monkeys garantueed). The very nice owner. The close proximity to town (half an hour walk, 500-800 rupi by tuktuk) in combination with the relaxing quietness of this location. Price-value is unbelievable.

The towels could be a bit larger. You also have to be prepared for a steep descent from the road to the location. We liked that, because it was charming and necessary to reach the priceless quiet location. I guess that goes for many of these jungle-type accommodations in Ella.
