D-Rima Homestay Ruteng

The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful; However, there are some remarks regarding the facilities: During my three-day stay, there was no hot water; the tap/sink provided barely any water; more attention could be paid to hygiene, in general; the room was never cleaned; The room itself is basic, but pleasantly furnished.

The room was spacious and had a couch. Even though it was a sunday in a catholic town, Ricardo managed to find us a driver to go to the homo floriensis cave and spider web fields. This tour was amazing and the driver drove very well. He also arranged a Gunung Mas for us to Labuan Bajo and advised us which time to choose to be in time to go past the roadworks.

We had to ask for help with the hot water both nights, but after the help it did work very well.

You feel like at home, we did a great tour, and the familly hel us for all.

Ricardo is a top bloke and extremely accommodating host. His family and staff are very nice and make you feel welcome.

Only one small bathroom between 3-4 rooms.

Staff and the host were very friendly and helpful. Also they have the cutest dog 🐕 😍 for a place in the middle of a small city it was surprisingly quiet at night, and we slept like babies. They made us a very tasty dinner and provided a speed laundry service, which was kind of a life saver. The bed was comfy. Although the room lacked airconditioning, this was not necessary as Ruteng gets pretty chilly at night.

There was a very smelly air freshener in the windowsill that I mistook to be mouldy and threw out the window (I'm sorry). Until I noticed the ones in the bathroom were the same and equally smelly.

Good value. Run by a very welcoming and friendly fmily. Appears just one paid worker. a lovely young woman, do remember to leave her a tip. Food and drink available all day. Owner speaks very good English and is extremely helpful. Great place to meet other travellers. Located on a pleasant residential street. 50 meters away is a very lovely walk through the rice fields. A pleasure to stay there.

We had a great time at D-Rima Homestay! We were lucky because apparently it was the only place in Ruteng where we could rent scooters too. Ricardo, the owner, helped us plan the route and gave great tips on where to stop. If you are staying there, do rent a scooter. The views on the route were amazing and this day was one of the most memorable ones of our trip so far. When we left the homestay early in the morning, we still got breakfast, which was great. So to conclude, would definitely recommend!
