1969 - Elixir of Love

Lovely stay, the room decoration and smell is like what you would experience in a vintage asean house. It smelled like my grandparent house.

Payment method can be improved, it does sound shady when you asked to pay outside the platform in advance while mentioning 'make payment within the next 1hr' and sent it at 1am !?

Excellent location, tucked down a small lane. It’s an old house, with some vintage furnishings. This made for a stay in a property that had character. It might not be for everyone, but was one of the main reasons we chose the Homestay..

Cockroaches, some dead, some alive, unfriendly faces, no water dispenser, and the owners... they will stay with you, and believe me , the walls are thin, and the ac isn't cold at all

Good location (though can be a bit hard to find at first), enjoyable cozy place (it reminded me of a relatives house). I was allowed to check in a couple of hours early, which was very appreciated as it was storming outside.

Thin walls, so i could hear my neighbours (though they did warn you about this, and they kept quiet at night). Weird message after booking where you have to agree to all house rules within 6 hours or lose the booking, which i found very weird (however seems to be something in Tainan, where 2 other hotels canceled my booking for random reasons without ever replying to me)

The place has a very cute traditional vibe, starting from the hall and the room was spacious and nice. It's very close to main attractions, heaps of food nearby. The host, who must have been the owner, I guess, was very friendly and let me leave my suitcase after check out. I checked in quite late and they left detailed instructions and the key for me in the letterbox.

It's a bit tricky to find, or maybe it was just me as I got lost and would have not found it without a help from the local. Make sure you have data on your phone so you can message the hostel in case you are lost. The walls are a bit thin so you can hear some noise from inside and outside, but they tell you that from the beggining.

The design of the place is great. The feeling is like staying in another period of time and same time everything is decorated in a very lovely way. Plus the place is quite clean. I made a mistake and did not find the house at the beginning and was even offered by the host that she would search for me. :-) I had the room with the balkony that was quite big. I would love to stay there again.

Mosquitos, ceilings which drop paint dust/crub, soundproofing

It was kept clean and tidy, facilities were good for price and there was good water pressure for the shower. The staff were friendly

I had lots of mosquitoes in my room and needed to keep the fan on to keep them of me during the night
