"The perfect introduction to Uganda"

Lovely welcoming host, David. He had many local tips and an incredible knowledge of the wildlife in and around his cozy garden. He is also a talented wildlife photographer. His cooking was phenomenal, and we felt so at home.

We were traveling to mabamba swamp to look for shoebill, and plastic bottles house was excellently located for this. David, the host, was incredibly friendly and helpful, and we were able to book a room last minute. David even helped us arrange an excellent guide for the next morning! The rooms were clean and comfortable, and dinner was delicious. Overall, we had an excellent stay.

The only issue was another guest who was awake in the middle of the night playing loud music. This was not the fault of Plastic Bottles House though, so we cannot really complain. Otherwise there was nothing we disliked!

"Who wants a challenge & change in travel plans?"

Firstly, I was intrigued about the name & photos of the accommodation which I thought an unusual place to try. Secondly, crossing Victoria Lake to get to the village was a new experience in my travels. True to its description, there were 2 huts made of locally produced materials & the recycled bottles. David, the friendly & accommodating owner shared the process of building them & his enthusiasm of caring for the environment. The serene place is surrounded with greenery which became a playground of the colourful chirping birds which provided music all day. As a bird watcher, he showed me some of the brilliant photos of the beautiful creatures. One day you’ll be seeing them displayed in the property & can show you actually on his bird watching tour. Calling all bird watchers aficionados. He was kind to feed me & the bed was comfortable with clean sheets plus towel. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience away from the typical hostels & guest houses in the city. It’s one of the best travel experiences I have.
