Casa Menezes - A Heritage Goan Homestay

Fabulous property. Excellent hosts

David and Nicole, family owners, personally made sure that we were completely happy and comfortable. The meals were authentic to Goa, gourmet and delicious. Their hospitality was excellent.

A fascinating old home, beautifully kept. Very comfortable and a beautiful quiet location. This is not the beach type of Goa but is a quiet village steeped in culture. David and Nicole are wonderful hosts and Susheela’s cooking is great.

We stayed at Casa Menezes for 7 nights as part of a 4 week trip to Mumbai (4 nights) then Goa. Whilst it took us a couple of days to adjust to the slow rhythm of the Homestay we grew to love the gentle pace of our holiday in this lovely old colonial house set in a quiet beautiful setting near Batim lake. David and his family went to great efforts to make us feel welcome, sharing knowledge of local heritage sites and places of interest for day trips. We would recommend Diva island eBikes, Panjim walking tour, guided walk around old Goa, Bambolim beach and Edwards Yard restaurant. We used taxis to get around, but you could hire a car or scooters and save quite a bit of money. Our room in Casa Menezes was lovely, full of character and a verandah for sitting out in the evening. We thoroughly appreciated David and his family's generosity and kindness. and would like to return on our next trip to India as part of a final leg to unwind, perhaps for December 2025.

Everything from David side was @excellent level. The welcoming, the advices arround Goa, beautiful breakfast, wonderful character . Thank you kindly.

- The home cooked food - The remote location meant we were close to nature which was interesting and a change from other places

- We weren't given any guidance or information about the accommodation or its facilities/activities and generally felt a bit ignored and repeatedly had to ask for things, some of which remained unprovided. - The antique double bed was smaller than usual - Towels had holes in them - Our room was next to the road and we were repeatedly woken up by stray dogs outside the window - WiFi was unavailable in the room - Noisy aircon meant it couldn't be left on overnight - Blocked shower drain flooded the bathroom floor - The swimming pool didn't feel available as to access it would have to walk through the dining area
