Great recommendations , great food, beautiful home stay

We really loved the informal, relaxed atmosphere here in their 16thC Portuguese ancestral home with so much character. The young couple David and Nicole were charming and David’s mother too. The rooms were spacious and the bed very comfortable and opening onto a verandah with a breeze, where we relaxed one of the days and read books. (The aircon works perfectly too !) The breakfasts were amazing - all home cooked food with a variety of Indian dishes, which were delicious, omelettes (you could have eggs cooked anyway you wanted) and a variety of fruit. They even went out of their way to make an Indian dish just for me each mealtime, as I couldn’t eat flour or dairy. Each evening we ate here in the peaceful dining terrace inside and also outside overlooking rows of palm trees - delicious varied meals as Nicole wanted us to try as wide a variety of home cooked Indian dishes as possible during our stay. David had some great Indian red wine in his cellar, which we tried too, in addition to ice cold beers and cold drinks. We were lucky enough to go on a fabulous, very interesting tour of Old Goa, guided by David, with some of the other guests. His knowledge of history made the tour exceptional and a couple from Portugal were able to translate some of the old 15th C Portuguese script on the wall stones! David is very dynamic and passionate about the area and knowledgeable about the whole of Goa.

We only wish that we could have stayed longer and also that we had come here straight from the airport and based ourselves here for a week. David had so many ideas of places for us to visit, but we didn’t have time. Next time we will do this and also visit Hampi, thé ancient Hindu civilisation site about 7hrs from here by train, but highly recommend by David and other guests.

I liked everything about this property and the family that run it couldn’t be more helpful and nothing was to much trouble, been to India 8 times now and I have to say it was the most relaxing experience with some of the best food I’ve tasted, will definitely stay there again and will advise all my friends to visit.

I couldn’t find anything I didn’t like and I’m very fussy.

Beautiful house in a quiet area with delicious homemade food. The family was very welcoming and took very well care of us. A special thanks to David’s mom for taking extra care of my baby and wife.

A little bit out of the way but our hosts were really helpful in giving us suggestions of where to go and helping to arrange transportation. We got to see a lot of Goa at our own pace, and also explored the beautiful village surroundings near the hostel.

Warm and friendly family atmosphere. Peaceful location and impressive facility Owner David is quite resourceful and extends help readily. He helped us with recommendations for site seeing, tour guide, dining and transportation needs

Room was somewhat humid even with the use of AC and fan. A dehumidifier would help improve this issue.

Great rooms and David couldn't do enough for you.
