The Green Jungle

It was an amazing stay with everything we needed an THE BEST HOST EVER! We expected an accomodation and found a friend for live.

Nuwan gave us a very warm welcome and the room was very clean and spacious. He informed us extensively about the area and activities to do, took us to see a nice sunset and to go birdwatching free of charge. After our stay, he gave us a ride to the bus station and helped us get on the right bus, which was very helpful. We would definitely recommend staying here!

Price value is good for a basic accommodation with mosquito net and fan (but no A/C !!). Nuwan helped with the bus getting to his home and also later to Kandy. He also took us to his favorite sunset spot. One evening we had dinner, Chicken Kottu, made by Nuwan wife which was good and for a good price. If you are looking for a full time support for activities in the area, Nuwan is your man but...

... what prior reviews mentioned as helpful, appeared to us as rather obtrusive/pushy. Already before arrival we got many days in a row plenty of messages of him. Once we had arrived we were offered all kinds of activities. He seemed quite disappointed that we wouldn't do the Ayurveda massage. After a high price offer for a safari (would have paid the same price but for 2 pers. at Udawalawe), he came back with a more reasonable price for a combo of Minneriya Nationalpark and Pidurangala - turns out we didn't enter the Nationalpark but another Eco Park in the area which entrance fee was only 1/3 of the Minneriya entrance. The safari experience was great, however its personal disappointment about trusting and paying for something but then not doing what you paid for. The same safari is offered right across the street of Green Jungle for less money.

We had a wonderful stay. Everything was very clean and the surroundings were very pleasant. The owner was very helpful and always had good recommendations for the area. There was a free pick-up service from the bus stop. The breakfast and dinner were also very plentiful and delicious. The accommodation is highly recommended if you want to spend a few pleasant days in Dambulla.

The host of this accommodation is an absolute gem. He was so helpful when giving guidance about the different activities and prices around Dambulla and Sigiriya. The room was spotless and amazing value for money. The host made a very tasty breakfast for us in the morning and chatted with us for a while.

Friendly personal, atmospere of the place, delicious food

This stay was great, surrounded by lush nature and has very clean spacious rooms! WiFi is great for working remotely. We stayed there for 2 nights and couldn't be happier, with the service provided by the hosts, we had our meals here all home made (breakfast included and lunch and dinner with some extra costs). It's a family owned business and we truly felt like a part of their family while staying there. They arranged for us sunrise hike and a safari all with ok pricing. Highly recommend to stay here is you have Sigiriya in your itinerary.

The room was spacious, clean and had everything you needed. The best part of the stay was Nuwans hospitality, he arranged our activities and went above and beyond. An amazing stay which was made even better by Nuwan and his family.

Nothing

Nuwan, the host, and his family were very friendly and wanted us to have a good time at their place. The food was amazing and the room was ok for the price. Many attractions were nearby and easy to reach by car/TukTuk or public transport.

A few renovations could be done and the communication by Nuwan was a bit too much for us (calls & messages via Whatsapp asking how we are doing and where we are). He was trying very hard to be a good host and in the end actually asked us for a 10 point score on booking.com.

We had a wonderful stay in Dambulla! Nuwan and his wife, were incredibly kind and helpful throughout our visit. He assisted us in planning our tour, including a fantastic safari, and even recommended a great Ayurvedic massage place. Their home-cooked breakfasts and dinners were absolutely delicious. The hospitality made our stay extra special—totally recommended!
