"The best stay we could have asked for!"

Kon Tree Shade was incredible! We stayed for 4 nights and felt like part of the family - we were very sad to say goodbye! The room was very clean and spacious and Venishia's cooking was so good that we mostly ate in! We had a great time talking to all the family and especially enjoyed our long chats with Wishwa. Couldn't recommend staying here more!

Nothing except for saying goodbye!

"Wonderful family homestay"

My partner and I are backpacking and traveling by bus through Sri Lanka. We stayed here for two days and would like to return if we can before going south. The location is very good and the important places are very close. However, the jewel of this accommodation is the loving family who received us with genuine warmth and shared authentically with us. They speak English very well. Venishia is a delightful conversationalist and an excellent cook (we had delicious and varied vegetarian breakfasts and dinners). Wije is a wise man and explained many things to us about nearby places to visit, culture, life, and Buddhism. Wishwa helped us with everything and with his smile. After only two days we said goodbye with some tears. It was a very enriching and priceless experience, and in these days afterward, we find ourselves every day bringing them to mind in one way or another and always with a smile.

There was nothing that we didn't like.

"Just like new home in Sri Lanka"

Amazing! So local! Wonderful couple, wonderful meal, wonderful everything. I can't recommend this place more. You can get some "lectures" about the culture, history, take a tour around local agriculture area and more. Perfect for backpackers. To be honest, we really didn't want to leave.

The place is not in google maps (but it's not that difficult to find it, anyways). On the other hand I'm sure it'll be there soon.
