Tehan Homestay

The owners were very kind, helpful and genuine. The location was great - only a 5 minute walk to hiriketiya beach.

Prime location, very friendly family and cute pets.

The o ly thing I liked about the place was that it's close to the beach.

The room we got at least was old, little care, mosquito net was old too and full of holes, the ceiling of the room wasn't completely close to the walls and the and we could hear every noise from outside, we woke up at 6 with a terrible machine noise right next to us. Bathroom wasn't clean and we found a cockroach. The place is not well maintain and honestly I don't think it should cost more than 9 or 10 doblarse a night but even that I wouldnt stay there again so for the same price you can find better places.

Tehan homestay is exactly what it says it is - a relaxing homestay (not a hotel). I was travelling alone and looking for a chilled place nestled in nature. Tehan is beautifully basic. If you're looking mostly for stunning scenery near the beach, and not fussed about having too many ameneties or services, this is a great option. I was also a lone traveller, and felt very safe, thanks to the gorgeous dogs and lovely family who runs it. Personally I just needed fast internet, a comfy enough bed, and a private bathroom - AC was bonus.

Sadly there IS a rooster that rises quiet early each morning so if you're a light sleeper, bring ear protection. There are insects (ants) in the bathroom and the rooms are mostly 'outdoors', so if critters aren't your thing at all best to consider other options. The mosquito nets on the beds keep everything out though !

Location is amazing on top of hill and really close to town! Maybe a 5 min walk! It’s nice and peaceful, the family are lovely and the garden is beautiful! Nice place to chill and relax! Room is clean and room stays cool at night! We would love to come back and stay next time we are visiting thank you 🙏🏾

It was a nice location just a short walk from the hustle of the beach. (4 minute). Ethan and his family were so nice and non-intrusive.

Just a few ants in the bathroom, but apart from that it was awesome.
