Sigiriya Lahiru Homestay

Hiru makes this homestay exceptional. Hiru and his family set the standard for friendliness and helpfulness. He has the ability to grant you every request for travel in Sr Lanka including long booked out train tickets. The room was great with an extra large bathroom. His mother is a lovely engaging person and a beautiful cook. Our breakfasts were wonderful with a different selection each day. This all makes for a very pleasant, relaxing and comfortable stay which should not be passed up.

Very friendly family, eager to help with anything you ask. Hiru has got a great knowledge of places to visit and see in Sri Lanka and he explained all in details. We also had Tuk Tuk rides arranged, any time we needed and we were brought to Lions rock early in the morning. Breakfast simple but tasty. Lovely lake in the back of the house, nice for short afternoon walk.

We had frogs and lizards in the bathroom and a bit of smell of dampness in bathroom. Bed bit was bit short in size for our height but ok for short stay 😉

Hiru & his family are absolutely wonderful hosts and this place is a gem. From start to finish Hiru went out of his way to make our arrival, journey and stay smooth, comfortable & enjoyable. The accommodation is exactly how it looks - a local house close to Sigiriya centre, who have opened their home. A good room with all basic needs - in a lovely area with great outside space. Hiru’s mum makes you an incredible local breakfast each morning & his dad is happy to drop you any time of day wherever needed and be your personal tuk tuk driver. Highly recommend- amazing value for money.

Hiru and his parents are amazing! They went above and beyond with helping us with everything we needed.

Highly recommend this place! Hiru is such a nice host who makes you feel very welcome. We really enjoyed our stay here. You can rent a bike from there to explore the area, he arranged a safari for us and he even brought us to the Pidurangala rock at 5 a.m.

Very comfortable and affordable place. Hiru and his family are very nice people, he will give you hips of tips to visit the area. The food was delicious.

Such a lively stay, wonderful caring family. Hiru is super friendly and helpful, his mom makes delicious breakfast. You can feel the love. The yard is beautiful, nice to relax and the room is clean and has everything one needs, also a mosquito net :)
