Kembang Kuning Cottages

It’s like a little family and Vandini was so lovely kind and welcoming. We had Ramadan lunch together which was a highlight of our stay and I LOVE THE CATS!!!!!

My boyfriend and me stayed one week at Kembang Kuning Cottages in Tetebatu and we loved it so much! The owner Vandini is and incredibly kind and openminded person and we had some interesting chats together about her place and the culture in and around Tetebatu. Our room was amazing, comfortable and clean and the breakfast was so good, the best banana pancake in all Lombok! Also the local food for lunch and dinner is amazing and the stuff is very kind and helpful. Thanks a lot for everything, you're the highlight of Lombok!

The people , the food, the tours they offer, the beautiful surroundings, a bargain room cost. The room is basic but very clean with a comfortable bed.

This is a homestay in a small mountain village surrounded by rice fields, jungle and on the flank of Mount Rinjani. Remember that - its a small, village so isnt going to have luxury city facilities! You will need a scooter or driver to get around but its a short drive to waterfalls, rice fields and the local attractions. The accommodation is basic yet clean and comfortable. The food was good, there is free unlimited tea and Lombok Coffee. What really stands out were how friendly, helpful and genuine the entire family and hosts are. Its probably the most welcoming place ive ever stayed. Vandini with perfect English along with everyone else couldnt do enough to help. They can arrange transport, scooters, guided walks and have a huge amount of local information.

These are small points - do not let them put you off! - Although there is free WiFi with a good signal, it didnt actually work at all when i was there. Possibly due to the weather. However, Telkomsel 4G worked perfectly so if its a problem, buy yourself a cheap sim card before coming.

The hospitality is second to none. Unfortunately the owner, who was the heart of the estlishment died suddenly a month ago but his daughter is doing a wonderful job. The room is huge and spotless.

Warning... This is a perfect stay only for those who want to be completely immersed in humble traditional village life because you walk through the family activities to get to your room at the back. Like the village, the compound is grimy and bedraggled. Chickens roam freely. It's a very poor region. It is next door to the mosque, which is very loud. The photo on the app is a bit misleading because there's a wall between the ricefield and accommodation. You are way off the tourist track here, so there is little in the way of eateries in the neighbourhood.

Our stay was incredible, everything was clean, people there are so nice and lovely. I highly recommand.
