Spice Cottage Homestay

Nothing but praise for this homely homestay; - Rooms as clean as a whistle. - Location close to the busstation and within walking distance of many a activities and great places to eat. - The place is run by a very nice family of which the father, Abbas, helped us greatly with getting the most out of our short stay in Thekkady. Shout out to Latif for being a great jeep driver and guide around the national park!

cleanliness, extremely friendly and helpful host

hot water available only 2 hours in the morning!!! so an active traveller returning to homestay after a day of activity should go to bed with sweaty body!!! hard to sleep at night or in the morning when guests in other rooms are awake and talking in common area.

All great, very helpful hosts

We loved how kind and helpful our hosts were. We loved the monkeys that visited us twice a day too. Our room was large and very clean. The location was great, a 5 minute walk to the centre and 20mins to the government booking office for the Park trips. The host offers free rides to the spice gardens...no need to pay the tuc tuc drivers 200rps!

We loved it all. There was hot water, good WiFi, a meal cooked us on arrival...give plenty of warning for them to get this ready for you.

I had an incredible stay in Spice Cottage Homestay. Good location in a quiet street close to the bus stand and at walking distance of the park facilities. The room is spacious, clean, comfy and has hot water. Most importantly, Abbas is an amazing host: friendly, helpful and eager to be so. He even prepared some homemade medicine for me when I got mild food poisoning. 100% recommend

Very clean and comfortable room! Nice place! Our host was very helpful! He made sure we catched our next bus and drove us to the busstop!

The rooms have good conditions and the breakfast is tasty. The highlight is Abbas who makes sure you are having a good stay at this homestay and in Kumily. He helped us get the tickets to the Border hike at the park and gave us some tips of what to do around town. Highly recommend!

actually we did not stay there as the room was available on the second floor. We had talked to the host in advance about maximum we can go till first floor as my wife has a knee problem. The host was very nice to us and helped us to find another place. but finally, we found a good hotel to stay. The host was nice to cancel the booking form his side. A real gentleman. Thanks boss.

I just stayed only for sleeping, I think it was good experience, because 2 days before I booked this hotel based on reviews. Propertor was very kind, he gave us a lot of tip about location. Seems like my father.
