Georges BnB Nature and Lifestyle Retreat

Die Lage der Unterkunft ist super, direkt an den nördlichen Wanderwegen zum Mt. Taranaki und auch das Umfeld mit großem Garten und vielen Pflanzen. Auch das Haus selbst mit seinen Außenterrassen und der große Gemeinschaftsraum sind eigentlich sehr schön.

Die bisherigen überwiegenden positiven Bewertungen sind unverständlich, wir haben hier was ganz anderes erlebt. Unser Zimmer war nicht abschließbar, also alles auf Vertrauen setzend, die Küche war unsauber und renovierungsbedürftig. Frühstück musste man sich selbst machen, aus allem, was man im Kühlschrank finden konnte. Teilweise war das Toastbrot schimmelig. Die Auswahl an Marmeladen war riesig, wie alt die offenen Gläser aber waren, konnte nicht festgestellt werden. George haben wir nur kurz angebunden erlebt. Die Einweisung war kurz und knapp, am zweiten Tag gab es mal ein Lächeln, als wir uns ebenfalls kurz in der Küche trafen. Eigentlich ist das beworbene B&B eher eine bessere Jugendherberge, mit dem Vorteil ein eigenes Bad (wenn auch separat) zu haben. Wenn George etwas freundlicher aufgetreten wäre, hätten wir uns wohler gefühlt.

Piękna lokalizacja. Cały parter wraz z kuchnią dostępny dla gości. Bardzo sympatyczny właściciel.

Perfect setting

Was somewhat surprised to have the owners bedroom directly opposite our bedroom & the property having another couple staying also!

Terrific location, beautiful setting with view of Mt. Taranaki and easy access to a walking path in virgin forest, comfortable and very clean accommodation, friendly helpful host.

I would have appreciated more choices for breakfast besides cold cereal and store bread, or at least granola.

The location near the tarns trail is awesome. I was at the house around 1pm, but I could not check in. But the owner sent me a message I could check in at around 1.30pm so I was very happy because straight from check in I did the trail. After I finished it felt like a relief to stay this close to the start so I could get a shower, eat and sleep.

It is a retreat near the mountains with lots of trees. So also lots of blowflies and other kinds of flying insects. Luckily he had black flag spray. But if he puts some window nets the spray will not be used. So the birds can eat them instead of killing them for good sleep.

If you love nature, you will love this place. George is super helpful as well. To location is very handy for hiking
