"Beautiful location right on the backwaters"

9.0

Right on the river so you can see the boats passing by and watch the birds diving for fish. Very quiet with 2 restaurants nearby, but had to eat early as they close at 6pm. However not a problem as the breakfasts were so lovely both Indian and continental we only needed something light in the evening so just shared a curry and chappatti for 150 rupees. It was lovely to use the free bicycles as we got out to explore the rice fields and canals. We booked a boat ride for two hours for 1800 rupees very good value. We also cycled to the Driftwood museum fascinating collection of wood resembling different objects. We were able to have our clothes washed for a small fee.

The bed was very hard. We had free water every day so used a lot of plastic bottles, maybe have a large water cooler/filtered water we can use to top up our water bottles would be more eco friendly. You have to pay cash as they do not accept credit cards.

"Fabulous location right beside the water."

9.0

Fantastic location right beside the water. You can sit on your balcony and watch boats passing by whilst spotting many varieties of birds, was really lovely! Little shop and restaurant just around the corner. Boats can pick you up at the property or you can take a short walk to the boat dock. Good breakfast and lovely hosts and staff.

Bed was rather hard for me and outdoor fan was not very good. Little tricky to find but rang property and they directed the tuktuk driver.

"Highly recommend - tranquil, beautiful location"

10.0

Perfect place for a tranquil backwaters experience. Real highlights are the terrace views of the houseboats going by, and they have a few bicycles available for cycling in the area along the canals. The hosts were lovely, and always available to answer any questions and help with info. The breakfast varied every day which was nice. We loved exploring the area on bike and on foot, and did 2 sikara boat tours organised through the guesthouse which were excellent. Highly recommend.

"Tranquility on the backwaters"

10.0

The location is just beautiful on the backwaters. If you like tranquility, with a lovely view of the boats going past and watching the birds and fishermen. This place is for you. The hosts help with any queries you have. They can arrange boat trips and taxis.

The only negatives. We found the bed to be quite hard. Due to the remoteness, there are only two restaurants within walking distance. But the location is so lovely this really is not an issue.

"Amazing stay"

10.0

Stayed here for 3 nights in this homestay and had an amazing experience. The setting is so peaceful with beautiful scenery. You can sit comfortably on your balcony listening to the birds and watching the boats go by. There are a couple of restaurants very closeby and a small shop. The accommodation was excellent with a clean and comfortable room. It had everything we needed. The owner and staff are so friendly and helpful ensuring you have the best experience. There were bicycles that were available to use and we were able to spend the day cycling around the small backwaters. The breakfast was fantastic. Overall an exceptional stay which we would highly recommend.

"The ideal place for a sunrise backwater tour"

9.0

We loved it here. Just four simple rooms upstairs with good aircon and our favourite 'bucket' shower. Host Ajish is immensely charming and helpful and arranged our two sunrise tours (Rps 800 per hour for the boat) from our doorstep, which was simply wonderful. So much better than staying in a giant houseboat that can't negotiate the smaller canals. Huge numbers of eagles, cormorants, kingfishers, etc. Wonderfully tropical. Location is fairly remote so food choices are limited. Breakfast was simple and delicious. But the nearest restaurant for dinner is very basic and barely OK. For lunch we tuktuked to the opposite bank and had a fabulous simple lunch at Pappanante. There's a really great massage place 5 mins away by tutuk, ask Ajish. We also hired kayaks for an hour (Rps 500 pp) at sunset. Ignore the 1* but beware the limited dinner option. Highly recommend.

Evening food choices are pretty rustic! So definitely 100% go for the fabulous experience but don't expect Michelin food.
