The setting was great. The location was a little out of the way but that's what made the setting so great.

Great location not far from the Falls. Beautiful property. There’s parking. Room was fairly basic but that was reflected in the budget price and the bed was very comfortable. Everywhere was very clean and well looked after. The kitchen had everything you needed and the shared bathroom was fantastic. Had a quick look at the gardens before I left and they looked amazing. Lovely host too.

Nancy is incredibly welcoming and kind, and the garden is beautiful and serene. It’s a peaceful, private spot away from the noise. Kitchen and lounge are shared spaces. We stayed in a room with its own bathroom and patio, and the beds, bedding, and pillows were so comfortable—we had a wonderful night’s sleep! We managed to get a good deal on the room which made the stay good value for money.

Unfortunately, the rooms aren’t soundproof, so we could hear conversations and doors opening nearby, which was tough after a late night waiting for my nephew’s arrival at Whangarei Hospital. The bathroom ceiling had a bit of mould, and the toilet could have been cleaner. It would have been lovely to keep the windows and doors open for fresh air, but the flying insects made it challenging—screens would be a great addition!
