Riverbench Homestay Munnar, Anaviratty

We were looking for a peaceful place to rest up and this fit the bill. However, it is about 45 minutes out of Munnar by auto-shaw, and pretty remote. The host family is great and they work with auto-shaw driver Raju, who will pick you up and take you on a tour of the area for a reasonable price, or anywhere you want to go, so you don't feel stranded. Food was good and you can also order takeout with delivery from nearby hotel if you wish. Lots of calm outdoor seating areas.

Location is far from Munnar center but it's quiet and peaceful.

Lovely family to stay with. Happy and satisfied with the hospitality they offered to us. The homestay is beautiful and clean.

It was a bit far from Munnar and all the places we wanted to visit. Wouldn't recommend if you don't have your own vehicle.

Easily the best place we stayed in Kerala. The Sabu family are the nicest, most accommodating hosts. They helped us with arranging tuktuks and how to take the bus. The room was very clean, spacious, and with an amazing view of the jungle. The home-cooked food was fantastic. I even forgot my shirt and they posted it to me at my next location.... I'm super grateful for their hospitality and will hopefully visit again!

We loved everything about this home stay. Amazing location. They have a natural swimming pool opposite their accommodation. It's just too good to be true. Very clean and neat room. Bathroom was very clean. Nice hot water for shower. Host both husband and wife his brother, sister in law made sure they came and had a lovely chat with us. Made us feel at ease and welcomed. I wish we would have stayed here longer. If you are coming with family you can book all four bedrooms and can have a family fun time. They also provide BBQ facilities which we witnessed a family enjoying BBQ in beautiful backyard. We will definitely be back at this property as its best place to relax and Rejuvenate. Our stay at Riverbench was amazing! We booked it for 3 nights, but right after arriving, we could see how nice and comfortable it was, so we asked to extend our stay for 2 extra nights. Mr. Sabu, Mrs. Mini and their son and daughter-in-law were all so welcoming and friendly! Mrs. Mini's home cooked food was delicious! And the wifi was the best we had in all of India. The beds were very comfortable and big, and it was quiet and nicely dark at night. The location is in a rainforest setting and the view is like something at a fancy luxury resort. You can walk down to the river to swim in a little waterhole, and you can also walk up to a water fall area with big rocks to walk around. One of the days while we were there, we walked the 20 minutes up to the main highway and took a public bus to Munnar to explore there a bit (and buy some chocolate). Otherwise, we just relaxed and thoroughly enjoyed our quiet, low-key days at the house. We highly recommend staying at Riverbench!
