West Point Backpackers Hostel

The staff at this hotel were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The rooms were immaculate and very comfortable. We also enjoyed the delicious breakfast each morning and loved the convenient location close to major attractions See you soon Mam 🙏

Everything....the rooms,the geyser,the cosy beds and closets,the homemade chocolates and special darjeeling tea .....was wonderful. But on top of everything Rebecca, the sweet and caring host, made the stay home away from home.....thank you Rebecca!I strongly recommend this place ....

Nice property with clean bedding. Wood panelled walls Amazing owner and management staff that are extremely responsive and have plenty of recommendations for travelers of all stripes. The owner is very familiar with international guests and has a cool background. The room had delicious handmade Darjeeling tea, which comes in handy on a crisp Darjeeling night or morning. Also, there is an awesome guy across the street who makes delicious momos, rice, and other fare. He will bring the food to your room, but I recommend you go to his shop to interact. On the last day, even got a peak of the mountains. One cool thing about Darjeeling is that unlike others parts of India, the people are not pushy. You can say no to a shopkeeper and it will not be a five minute ordeal. Also, the people seem warmer towards or at least more curious about foreigners than other parts of India.

I did not plan for peak tourist season in Darjeeling. This is my fault of course. However, because of the traffic, I found it easier to walk than to take cabs to the city center. Also, the mountain air is not as fresh due to the vehicle traffic. Also, once again my fault, but if you live in South/West India or in a warmer climate, bring a jacket as Darjeeling can get a bit chilly.

The location is great and every place is easily accessible . The room was very clean and we did get the best view of Kanchanjungha from the room . I went with my mother and we felt very safe and comfortable during our stay . Rebecca is a great host , she helped us with travel . She recommended good places , cab , food, travel and made us feel like home . Thank you Rebecca 🙂

Traditional style charming building by the main road. Quiet at night. Comfortable, very clean and well maintained. The hospitality of the owner is just amazing, and her advices priceless. We spent hours talking about everything, but especially about tea. If you come for tea, I think there's no better place. Feels like home, no: better!

I recommend this place 100%. The location is great, the facilities are good, but the real highlight is Rebecca's kindness, who will receive you like a king and help you with everything! She helped me find a way to get to the border at Rauxal because the border at Kakarbhitta, near Darjeeling, was closed to foreigners. She also gave me lots of advice and places to visit to fill my days! And above all, she didn't hesitate to give me some very local addresses that tourists don't go to! Thanks again Rebecca! I won't forget this trip to Darjeeling.
