Battambang Eco Stay &cooking class

I stayed there for one night, but it was the best experience I’ve ever had. I love this place . It offers a peaceful environment, with the sound of birds in the morning that makes me feel like I’m living a simple, mindful life and spending more time with myself. The bathroom was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the service was very helpful. I also enjoyed cooking Khmer dishes with them . It really lifted my spirits. Someday, I’ll come back and stay there for a longer time.

La gentillesse et l'amabilité de la famille. Le cours de cuisine. La grand-maman extraordinaire même si on ne parlait pas là même langue 🥰 la maisonnette qui ne paie pas de mine mais dans laquelle nous avons dormis comme des bébés bercé par la pluie. MERCI

Véritable expérience au coeur de la nature "chez l'habitant" dans une maison traditionnelle sur pilotis. D'une grande gentillesse, notre hôte s'est montrée aux petits soins pour notre famille, que ce soit pour nous aider à élaborer notre programme de visite et nos transports (merci pour les bons plans) que pour nous préparer des plats typiques et engager de belles discussions. Nos enfants ont adoré partager des moments de jeux avec leurs enfants. Battambang est facilement accessible en tuk-tuk et la famille n'hésite pas à nous faciliter les déplacements et a nous emmener. Allez-y les yeux fermés !

Our time at eco stay was really nice. The family was exceptionally friendly, warm hearted and helpful. The food was delicious and we also did a cooking class which was a lot of fun and interesting. We absolutely would recommend staying there!

The environment and the staff are really good . You can feel your own house there . Also they have really nice neighbours. They will come to meet you and diffidently you should meet the children of the neighbours. They have some play ground on the home Stay . So some children are coming to play there they are very nice and kind. We love to stay there because of the behaviour of the staff. They are feeling like our relatives. We will visit with them their village and their pagoda. It's really a amazing home stay for us . We highly recommend the home stay if you want to feel the village life if you want to really feel stress from the city you should stay here. That's a nice place.

There is nothing there is one we cannot say we don't like.

We stayed here for 3 nights and had a wonderful time. We stayed ina bungalow with fan. The bedroom was very comfortable and clean, with a nice bathroom and a lovely seating area underneath with a dining table and hammocks. Pisay, who is one of the owners, and her family were very kind and welcoming and Pisay really went out of her way to take care of us. She even rang the boat company to confirm all the details of our boat transfer to Siem Reap just to make sure that all the arrangements worked smoothly. Pisay and her family cooked us delicious breakfasts and dinners. We also took a wonderful cooking class with her and visited a neighbour’s garden to pick herbs and vegetables for dinner, digging up galangal and turmeric and lemongrass for the fish amok that we made. Nothing was too much trouble. We were able to get laundry done and to rent motorbikes so that we could travel around the region. The guesthouse is a bit outside the centre of Battambang, however its easy to get tuk tuks to and fro and to travel by motorbike. It was nice to be in a slightly more rural location and to see a different slice of Cambodian life.

We loved the traditional house on stilts that we got to stay in. Beds were comfortable and had mosquito nets and fans overhead, the nets definitely necessary as there were plenty of gaps in the wooden floor and walls for bugs to get into the room. However I loved the feeling of sleeping in a cabin that was quite porous to the sounds of birds and frogs outside. There was a modern bathroom beneath the room plus shaded space to eat and laze in hammocks. Our host was really friendly and chatty and a great cook, she also prepared us breakfast to take on our travels as we had an early start. The location is lovely, in the countryside about 10 mins outside town. There are multiple rooms available on the site so I guess at busy times it might feel more like a b&b than a homestay, but I think it would still be nice even so.

The owners were fantastic. We arrived late in the evening, as soon as we had settled, dinner was prepared. They then offered to do our laundry for no charge which we gratefully accepted. You are welcomed like members of their own family. The rooms are traditional Cambodian and a great experience for our children. The mosquito nets are prepared by the owners before we went to bed. Breakfast is an option of western or Cambodian, my wife and I went for the Cambodian and our children were very satisfied with eggs on toast. All the facilities were as described.
