loved the ambiance, the natural environment and wildlife. Great to have options for a lift to and from venues and airport.

Location was good but a bit of a hike/cycle up a hill to our place.

The owner met me at the airport, took me the grocery store, gave me a mini-tour of the island. She was great. The gardens are beautiful!

Wifi worked pretty good before 7 am, otherwise was very bad. I didn't come to Lord Howe for the internet though!

Barbara was a lovely host and rooms and facilities were as described. Beautiful gardens and a comfy bed. We really enjoyed our stay.

Location wise there was a bit of a hill we had to push our bikes up but totally doable for us and it was lots of fun coming down!

Very nice and amazing owner. Cannot wait to come back

Barb is the absolute definition of a perfect hotel host. She picked us up from the airport, showed us around the island, and her little furry companion is just adorable. The amenities are excellent, and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. Even when our flight got cancelled, she helped us with all the support we needed to stay 1 extra night in the island. Thank you, Barb, for taking such good care of us.

The Wi-Fi can be a bit spotty, but that’s expected since the island itself has limited coverage. Besides, you’re unlikely to spend much time in your room when there’s so much to explore.

Barbara was a very helpful host who provided transport to and from airport and did a welfare check daily.

The blurb claims free WiFi and guest laundry ( both pretty important in a place with no phone reception and where you bring the minimum because of weight restrictions on the plane ) but neither works. The TV was unpredictable, there was no heating or cooling. No cleaning. I didn't mind that the unit was dated but there was not so much as a teabag provided. We were given a bar of soap, a spare toilet role, salt and pepper and a hair dryer. That was it. Not even standards like shampoo or a box of tissues, we had to buy those at inflated prices and in amounts that we would never use up because the shops don't stock small travel sizes. The accommodation was a fair walk to the nearest shop or cafe and a steep uphill climb to get back. Take a torch because if you are walking home after dark there are no street lights and it's pitch black. I regret not having spent a bit more on accommodation. When you consider the overall cost of coming here (airfares, food etc) you might as well also pay for a comfortable place to stay.

Pick up from the airport with a brief tour of the main sights; BBQ available; clean but dated accomodation; gardens surrounding the accomodation; allowed early access to accomodation (well before 2pm); access to a ‘transit lounge’ on the day of departure (with a shower that was broken)

WiFi while provided was not useable (very very slow) despite fast WiFi elsewhere on the island. This became problematic as the tours use email to notify you of changes; satellite TV provided but not useable due to poor internet connectivity; accomodation is at the top of the hill (but not with a view) meaning you need to cycle or walk up at the end of any activities including tours, eating and shopping; providing basics for cooking like cooking spray etc would have been nice noting the cost to buy on the island and luggage weight limits; limited privacy in unit 3; washing machine broken
