Ettalong Beach Luxury Apartments

The view and location

This was meant to be a luxury apartment and for what we paid for the weekend, I expected a lot more. There was a disgusting smell in the room that emanated from the laundry and wafted throughout the apartment. We were told to just run the water in the tub to clear the pipes, but the smell did not go away for the full weekend. I was told this is a common complaint. The rooms were much smaller than depicted in the pictures, there was no dishwasher. The second bathroom door was broken and locked you in from the inside if the door closed so we had to keep it open when using it. I raised all of these issues on the morning after we arrived and did not hear back from anyone for the remainder of our stay. I could not be more disappointed.

The view was absolutely beautiful

Stepping over into the spa bath for a shower one must be careful ,and washing up and no shutes for garbage available having to drive with your two day rubbish ,plus booking was for 2 days 2 people wouldn’t you think 4 towels be appropriate not 2 and real estate shut on weekends 🙄

Liked the location

We arrived and got our keys very late at night and when we tried to get into the hotel/our room, the keys were not working or activated so we had to use the after hours call out and wait for them to arrive. Also, the man hole in the bathroom was left open and we were unable to get it closed. The shower water came out as brown for the first few minutes before it cleared up. The room we booked initially became "unavailable" after we had booked so they moved us to "a similar view" room which was absolutely not a similar view. Instead of a mountain and beach view, we had a view of nearby houses and a construction site. Next time I will book directly with Mantra.

We booked for two nights and left after 30 minutes the place wasn't clean and there was a heavy damp smell.

Location

When I arrived I couldn’t find the light switch for the ceiling light as I entered the apartment. It wasn’t working. The toilet water in the bowl was a brown colour with a brown ring around the bowl. The cistern didn’t shut off when it filled and it leaked onto the tiled floor. The TV reception was poor on Channel 7 and 9. No good for watching AFL and NRL. Plus the TV screen had been wiped with a wet cloth and you could see marks on the screen. The batteries for the TV and air conditioner needed the be fiddled with to get them to work the appliances. There was a hair scrunchie under the table and chairs left most likely by the previous occupant. Lastly we couldn’t open the balcony door to go outside as it was locked.
