Location & Off Street Parking

No smoke alarm Loose electrical wall sockets Trailing cables & multiple extension leads into 1 socket Dirty, soiled mattress, pillows & duvet. No mattress, pillow protectors Sink unit filthy. Had to be scrubbed before able to wash up in it Dirty bed settee in lounge No functioning extractor fans in shower room or toilet. Musty smell Only 1 tea towel & 1 set of towels for 6 day stay Broken coat hangers in wardrobe Mismatched & chipped crockery and mismatched cutlery Having stayed in this property several years ago we were expecting a very good standard of accommodation again. The decline in standards was unbelievable as you can see from the attached photos.

Trip to Ypres. The location is very close to the centre of town but still far enough away to not hear any noise from the pubs and bars. This place has its own parking bays in a car park nearby, too. There's free WiFi if you need it.

Couldn't get the tv to work. I wanted to watch the news but the tv isn't tuned in.

The manager changed our accommodation at the last minute saying the shower was broken and we were getting an upgrade. We had to walk to another part of town with all our luggage - he should have told us to go there earlier. It was really a downgrade. Steep and dangerous stairs to bedroom. Toilet in a very tight space. A kitchen cabinet door was falling off. Rusting radiator. We were not told of the available bikes or laundry facilities.

Close to the centre of Ieper yet on a lovely quiet street. Perfect location for my needs. Meet & greet key pickup. A very quick response from the host amid a public holiday to resolve my enquiry. Very pleased with baggage concierge after check-out to help with travel home.

Old Saxo is in a perfect location, easy access to the centre of Ypres with its wonderful museums, cafes, Saturday market and the Menin Gate. On the first floor, the apartment is roomy and full of light. The bed is very comfortable - important! The host Bernard met us there and was friendly and helpful. A small supermarket is nearby and supplied everything we needed. We appreciated the carpark, a few minutes walk away, and his advice about accessing it. The internet connection was excellent.

With a few tweaks this apartment could be better. The kitchen supplies were hit and miss - only two spoons in the drawer but lots of knives and forks. Only 1 dish towel was supplied and there was no hand towel. The frying pan was old and stained. One of the stove elements was not working, neither was the extractor fan. We thought the hot water temperature was dangerously high with the potential to burn if you knocked the control while in the shower - a definite possibility as the shower was on the small size. Most of the chairs at the table had wobbly legs however we found two that were stable. These are minor issues and fixing them would make Old Saxo a near perfect place to stay.

It was spacious

Location, excellent for visiting local sites. Comfortable accommodation.

Main shower head, some jets/nozzles blocked and shower curtain would not wrap completely round the tray. Therefore water spilled out onto floor.

The apartment was in the heart of the town with good access to all areas, the underground car park was just one street away and very secure as a motorcyclist would happily leave my bike there. The WiFi was free and good and overall the apartment was good. Opportunity to hire a bike and electric scooter from host at a very reasonable price.

The kitchen could have done with some more utensils, plates and cups. The bathroom was below standard especially the shower and needs updating.

Very quiet bedroom, bed was super comfortable. Pleasant spacious lounge. Free parking in secure underground garage nearby.

Kitchen equipment was missing some items, some lights did not work, we couldn't get any TV channels.
