Atelier 9 has a lot of character. I really enjoyed staying here…very simple. Has everything one needs. Comfortable bed, great balcony, wonderful neighborhood..French Embassy around the corner. Restaurants, shops, parks …

Good location. We decided to stay there so we could have a kitchen but we couldn’t use it. Only the fridge and the kettle.

We didn’t have HOT WATER. We had to shower with the kettle. See pictures. There were spiderwebs. See picture.

Location is great.

Good location, good value for money. Good WiFi. All basic amenities in place.

Parking is unavailable. Had to park in a paid car park that's about 10 minutes by foot.

Very nice place to stay not far from the train station and close to many public transport stops. The apartment is very comfortable and the wifi is very reliable. Communication with the owner was fast and smooth. Good option for short and long stays.

The typical Bulgarian bathroom with the shower next to the WC...But this is Bulgaria, I am starting to get used to that. The apartment is in the last floor and no elevator, so if you have heavy bags you know what to expect.

The apartment was really nice and well located!

The kitchen wasn't properly cleaned and the cooker wasn't working.

The location of the flat was convenient. We walked everywhere. Apart from the location, the flat was exactly like it was shown in the pictures.

There are a number of issues I would like to mention. The first serious issue was that the host completely forgot us and did not appear in front of the building as it wrote on the reservation information. We tried to contact them for hours via booking.com and even via whatsup. One of the local pub owners was kind enough to call them many times, but still, we could not reach them. Finally, believing that we were scammed, we went to a nearby hotel with the help of the same local pub owner. Later at night, at about 12.30 we received a message from the owners proving us the password to the key located in a box in front of the building. They apologized for not showing up on time and offered to cancel the reservation. We did not know anywhere at that time which can meet our needs and preferences, so we decided to go back to the flat in the morning and told them so. We also agreed on getting a refund for the night The next day, we could enter the flat and spend two nights without any other serious issues. After we came back home to Istanbul/Turkiye, they tried to pay us one night's fee back, which was supposed to be 45 Euros but unfortunately, we received only 35 Euros due to the fees of the transaction. In short, we had to wait in front of the building for minimum 4 hours wondering what to do with our two kids. In addition, we had to exceed our budget because of the owners of the flat. They tried to make it up but it did not meet our expenses. About the flat, we could not use the oven and cook anything in the kitchen because the oven seems to be heating only itself. We could have stayed in a hotel instead. After my husband replaced the broken cable with the new one, which we found in one of the drawers, we could use the washing machine but unfortunately, there was nowhere to hang them to dry or any clothes pegs.

Well located for walking to everything. Large and sunny space with kitchen bathroom living area eating area and sleeping area. Even had a little clothes washing machine. Quiet. Hosts were very responsive and accommodating.

We were able to manage it but I think it's really important to know that you must walk up five flights of stairs and the entrance areas are quite run down.

This is not a standard hotel or flat experience. If this is what you want, you may be disappointed here. The apartment is a fourth floor attic room which has been cleverly divided to give two sleeping "rooms", a galley kitchen, wet room and spacious living room cum dining area. It has been decorated in an "individual" style and is homely, relaxing and comfortable. Be aware that there is no lift in this older building and I wouldn't want to carry a large case up and down! Self catering is certainly possible and necessary equipment is provided. There is a hotplate/oven about the size of a very large microwave which I couldn't get to work properly and some instructions/tips might help. The flat and building feel very secure. Location is very good. Metro and tram stops within 5 minutes walk give easy access from bus and rail stations and to other parts of the city. From here it is an easy walk to the National Gallery and cathedral. Very nice park at the end of the (short) street with cafes etc. The neighbourhood is pleasant - embassies in next street, shops and bars/coffee shops/restos in surrounding streets. Don't go to nearby Lidl unless you are desperate. If you like cheese and yoghurt as well as other dairy products and dried sausages etc direct from producer, try the dairy shop opposite the park, near the fruit and veg etc shop and the craft beer takeaway. All good and cheaper than the supermarket. I'd say that despite the sometimes idiosyncratic plumbing and wiring, you get quite a lot for your money here. I think I would stay here again.

a little minor maintenance of some things might be good. I'm not keen on the single duvet either but these appear to be the norm everywhere in Bulgaria!
