Chalet Gerbera

The location was convenient to the center of town. A beautiful view of the Lauterbrunen valley!

We were in the attic apartment, and I doubt there is a better view anywhere than the one from our balcony. We ate lots of dinners in, just so we could spend more time out there gazing at the mountains. The unit was clean and comfortable and had a very well-stocked kitchen, good water pressure, and great wifi. It felt very much like home, with lots of thoughtful touches. Having laundry facilities available was a huge help to us! Ruth and George are gracious hosts, very communicative, and willing to help with anything. The town of Wengen is very charming and has lots of shops and restaurants, and a great Coop with sandwiches and such to pack a picnic. We hiked a couple of days right from Wengen, and the rest of the time took quick train rides to other towns in the area. A week was not enough! We would highly recommend this rental and hope to return soon.

The only negative, as many reviewers point out, is the hill up to the train station/main part of town. Yes, it is steep, but you know about it in advance and it is really not that big of a deal. Ruth kindly offers to arrange for a taxi at the end, to get the luggage up to the train station.

Stunning view in the gorgeous mountain village of Wengen. Magnificent balcony overlooking the Lauterbrunnen valley with the majestical Eiger as a backdrop. Ruth was incredibly accommodating, checking in on 3 occasions and offering us local tips. She provided us with a highchair and travel cot for our baby which we were very grateful for. She also checked whether we would like a taxi booking to the station on our day of departure

Very little. We did find a few ants in the bathroom and living room but it did not affect our stay significantly.

Everything. The cleanliness, facilities, location, peace and tranquility and views are superb.

Nothing.

Great apartment the views were amazing and the rooms were comfortable and spacious. It all worked really well

Long walk up to the village not for people who are older or unable to walk uphill for any length of time

Beautiful clean comfortable and well maintained with everything you need.
