Chalet Gerbera

The location was excellent and the views are stunning. The apartment is about a 10 minute (downhill) walk from the train station but definitely worth it. I thought I was in pretty good shape before the trip but the uphill walk back to the station is just the motivation I needed to reevaluate my exercise routine.

I am grateful I had access to a washer and dryer but they are small, take advantage of the natural beauty around you while you wait for the laundry and bring extra 5 CHF.

This chalet was such a wonderful stay for my family for one week. The host, Ruth, was very gracious and helpful. The chalet is a bit of a walk down the hill from the Wengen train station, but it is definitely worth it because the neighborhood area around the chalet is extremely peaceful and quiet, and has one of the most beautiful views of the Lauterbrunnen Valley from the chalet's terrace. The kitchen was fully stocked with appliances and dishes perfect for cooking for a family of 4. The WiFi speeds were fast and reliable. The beds were comfortable and had traditional European pillows. The bathroom has a full-size tub and shower. The chalet has a wonderful skylight in the ceiling that allows for constant views of the Eiger mountain. We would absolutely stay at the Chalet Gerbera again and would even like to stay for longer next time. If you are concerned about the walk from the train station with your luggage, contact the host prior to as she can help schedule a convenient taxi. Our taxi cost us 25CHF one-way on the day of departure.

Ruth and George are wonderful hosts and their beautiful chalet was our favorite stay on our two week trip. It was perfect for our family's needs with a well stocked kitchen, large table and living room and comfortable beds. The views off the back deck are jaw dropping. It is a just a short walk uphill into town, or you can walk downhill to the Wengwald station and ride the train up. We were able to do some laundry which was wonderful since we packed very light. We had a perfect stay!

Amazing location and view from the balcony. The best view you can get in Wengen. Apartment was very clean and there was everything we needed. Ruth is so friendly and kind host. We loved everything and we had the best week ever. We will definitely come back one day.
