Vacanza Complex

This booking was an alternative recommendation from booking.com as they made a mistake with our original booking. So we arrived in Benidorm and had no place to stay for the booked 6 nights. Booking.com gave us this apartment as solution. The location of the apartment was good, a few minutes walking to the beach and also a little supermarket and restaurants nearby. The owner of the apartment was super nice. If I would only need to rate him, he would be a 10 out of 10. He was trying to make our stay as good as possible, was always reachable by phone if we had problems or questions and gave us some tips about restaurants and things around.

As we didn't originally booked this apartment we were of course very disappointed when we arrived. The apartment we booked had seaview, 2 bedrooms, indoor and outdoor pool, mini-golf, gym, aquapark, ... and this apartment had nothing. It was very small for 5 people, had only 1 bedroom with 2 single beds and 2 double sofa beds in the living room. The curtains were no blackout curtains, so the living room was filled with bright light from outside which made it almost impossible for our daughter to sleep and each time someone passed by the apartment door a sensor switched on a bright light outside which directly lightened the bedroom. The facilities, especially in the kitchen were very old and need a refurbishment. Tiles were cracked, the washing machine only worked if you kick it hard, the oven only works with upper or lower heat and circulating air seemed to be broken, the water boiler made it impossible to shower more than 1 person at a time and if this person is washing their hair, the water might be already freezing at the end, crockery, cutlery, pans and pots were very old and a mingle-mangle of different styles. There was not even a dishcloth and some washing-up liquid provided, no handsoap etc. The laundry rack was broken and missing one side part. The big pool was closed and the small one not cleaned yet when we arrived but it was done after 1 day and we could use it. Fortunately our 2 eldest kids got invited by friends in Alicante for 2 nights, so we were less cramped and tried to don't spend too much time inside.

Juan was very pleasant and excellent to deal with. Nice size apartment and quiet area.

The photos on booking.com are very deceiving and outdated as in the photos there was a pool bar and when we got there we were informed that this had closed down. Pool area very strict with alcohol and no lilos allowed in the pool. We were shocked finding out we had to pay for electricty and aircon when usually this is included in the price. No aircon in the bedroom, and there was five of us in one apartment and the shower did not accomodate five people more like two people as it got freezing cold. Sunbeds also an extra cost.
