Good host. Clean appartments. Air conditioning

Excellent flat with a stupendous sea view. The flat is spacious, comfortable, beautifully decorated and with lovely touches to make us welcome. We were met at the door and the owner helped arrange a transfer from the airport.

Nothing - it was fantastic.

The location was fantastic. It was the perfect location for easily accessing the beach and was a short distance from the main areas of Alicante such as the castle, the Marina and the Explanada de España main promenade. The view from the balcony was exceptional. The apartment itself was spacious, comfortable and very well equipped which made our stay even better. Nico the host was very welcoming and responsive to any request we had. We have stayed in Alicante a number of times but this apartment was the best one we have experienced.

The view is wonderful. It's even better than in the pictures. The old town is a short walk from the apartment. It would have been a wonderful stay without the issues highlighted below.

We booked the apartment from 23-30 December. When we arrived, the owner showed us the bucket in the middle of the bathroom, with water dripping from the ceiling, saying and he could not find anybody to fix it being almost Christmas. He showed us where to close of the water whenever we leave the house. He said it will be fine. Late night Christmas Eve, water was pouring from the bathroom ceiling. When we sent him the video, he said he emailed booking.com to move us into another apartment the next day, because he can't find anyone until the 27th. We called booking.com and they said the landlord would need to find a place for us. The whole thing was such an ordeal. Booking.com customer service was terrible. The first person I spoke to promised to find a solution and get the boiler fixed by the landlord, because there are plumbers who work over the holidays. But then nothing happened. The next day another person wanted me to tell the whole story again, even though she should have seen the notes on my account. Nobody wanted to find another place for us. Booking.com said they could liaise with the landlord for a refund and then we need to find a place for ourselves. We then told the landlord we had no other option than stay and asked him to fix it as early as possible on 27th. He texted us early morning 26th that he found someone who was working. So it got fixed on the 26th. However, they did a terrible job so when we switched on the light in the bathroom, it tripped the electricity. From then on, we only used a tiny bedside lamp in the bathroom, because we wanted peace and we didn't want more works to be done until the end of our stay. Later, the landlord gave us a bottle of wine. And at the very end, he offered us to go back for a weekend before the peak season for free. It was too late for any gestures. I was not happy at all with how he treated the whole situation. I think he could have fixed it before we arrived as he was well aware of the situation.
