Les Cocon des Pentes de la Soie

lovely room & large enough for two people

・It's in a place where you can't reach without climbing a lot of stairs ・Only 1 bath towel for 3 days ・the surroundings didn't seem safe ・It was difficult to open and close the door ・The water in the washroom did not flow

The location was perfect - near to a number of bus, train and subway stops as well as walking distance to a number of sites. I enjoyed being able to walk around anyway but great to have the options of regular public transport. Some lovely shops and cafes etc nearby too. The apartment was spacious and comfy with everything provided that I would need for the stay.

No windows to open - as it was hot when we were there, we were pleased to have had a fan available.

The location is great. The kitchen was reasonably supplied with dishes and pots and pans for cooking. There is no oven.

The photos seem deceiving. There are 2 different apartments listed in the photos and we did not know which one we were staying at until we arrived. We were in the first-floor apartment, which has a very low ceiling (the main beam is probably about 5'6" high). It also has a tight, steep staircase (15 steps up) to get up to the apartment. Definitely not good for someone with mobility issues. Our daughter and her husband rented the other apartment in the listing. It is on the ground floor with a couple of steps down into the apartment. The first-floor apartment we had did not have the shelves above the kitchen counter and the washing machine was in the bathroom(so you can sort out the pictures a bit). Our apartment seemed smaller than the photos made it look. The shower didn't drain well and would flood the bathroom floor. The nespresso maker was only supplied with 4 coffee pods. There was no dishwasher detergent. Also no washing machine detergent.

The location was handy to the outdoor market. The bus stop was handy travel either up or down tow,

The fridge freezer need defrost and was unusable. The kitchen knife were blunt making cutting bread difficult. The interior needed a good spring clean as there were cobwebs on the ceiling and mould around the door and window. There was no fresh air so we had to leave the front door open.

Great location near the Croix-Rousse. Quiet street yet minutes from the hearts of the city. Very clean and all the essential accessories included.

Horrible smell in the Cocon des Pentes - of humidity and old plumbing. We had rented two rooms and Cocon de La Soie was a great deal. There was also no hand soap in the bathroom. water leakage from the bathroom the floor above was clearly visible. And no flexibility with an unusually late checkin and an unusually early check out times. For us, who were visiting family and the stay in Lyon was only for a day, this really soured the experience.
