Instead of attempting to drive into the traffic restricted zone to pick up the apartment key, drive directly to the car park where the discounted parking is offered. The car park is “Indigo Plaza del Pilar”. After parking your car, and the lift exit brings you up to the grounds of the plaza. Walk to the San Valero Hotel. There are two entrances to the San Valero Hotel at C. de la Manifestación, 27. The closest hotel entrance (short cut) to the car park exit is at the intersection of C. de Prudencio and C. de los Convertidos. Walk through that entrance to the other side of the building where the hotel reception desk is located. The discounted parking offered by the hotel reception is paid in 24 hour blocks at the end of your stay. The apartment on level 4, is identified by the “AZ” sticker on the door. There is an issue with the air conditioning installation in the apartment. The root cause is the distributor box for the A/C ducting pipes is attached to the A/C unit with easy-to-tear tape. When the tape tears, the distributor comes apart from the A/C unit, causing the cold air to pour out ABOVE the ceiling - with very little exiting the 3 duct outlets in the apartment. So, it is cold above the ceiling panels and is warm in the rooms. Even if the box is re-attached with more tape, there is still an air leak at the top edge where it is difficult to reach, meaning the volume of air out of the ceiling ducts is not as good as it should be. All this only becomes an issue during a 40+ degrees C heatwave, which was when we visited Zaragoza. There are electric fans in the apartment and they helped. The location is fantastic, the apartment is clean, the bed comfortable (even if the base creaks). The fridge and freezer worked well.
