Central location Great views and very spacious and well equipped Great Chinese and Indian take ways

We couldn’t get in to the cleaning cupboard so we’re unable to clean floors etc

Very comfortable. Kitchen well equipped. Good seating in the living room. Nice bedroom with very comfortable bed. Access was easy once we worked out where the flat is located (opposite the photo of The Square).

Ideally, we would have preferred not to have to go upstairs to the loo.

We loved our stay at The Square. The location was superb and we loved having breakfast overlooking the town. We only used the apartment to sleep in and have breakfast as my brother had a much larger property five minutes walk away, but it seemed very well equipped and suited our needs very well.

The shower! The water pressure is poor and we had to boost the heating the first few days as the water was cold. A recycling bin in the kitchen would be useful. The double bed does sag a bit in the middle, but for a sole occupant it was fine and I slept very well there. It was hot during our stay so both bedrooms would benefit from a fan.

Great location - overlooking the square. Bedding was clean and crisp Bedrooms light and airy Soft towels WiFi was good and I was able to work all day with no interruptions to the connection

I was hit by a musty smell as soon as I got in - not sure if there had been pets with previous guests (there were dog hairs on the cushions). I put scented candles on during my stay but it only masked the smell. Disappointed to not get any kind of welcome pack as others have mentioned in previous reviews. After 8 hours of driving a pint of milk would have been welcomed. There was half a bag of opened Taylor’s coffee in the cupboard, but that was stale, and a few teabags at the bottom of a jar. The shower was poor as stated in many reviews, so it’s a shame nothing has been done. And I’d specifically asked ahead of booking if it was ok as I have long hair and was told it was fine. It’s not! During one shower it sounded like the pump kicked in and it was glorious! But sadly it didn’t come on again so all others showers were a trickle. No contact from owners at all throughout my stay - unusual for Kelso - I’ve always had a warm welcome on my many visits and a check in that all is ok - but nothing at all this time. It was good to have a washing machine but it had a lot of mould inside so that could do with a really good clean

The host was extremely responsive and accommodating. Thank you for everything you did for us on this trip! ❤️ The location is great for walking around the town square too.
