Stornoway Apartment

This apartment was very spacious with a large comfortable living room, with gas central heating and an electric fire which made the place nice and cosy, an equally large bedroom with comfortable bed, and large bathroom with separate bath and rain shower. The apartment was in a great location, only a 10 minute walk into the centre of Stornoway and also had free parking to the rear which was excellent. We didn't really use the kitchen, but there was a lovely box of snacks/biscuits left for us which we thought was a nice touch, and we also made use of the washing maching and washing pods which were provided which we thought was excellent. All towels/linens and bathroom products were also very much appreciated and all communications with, and instructions from, the owner, were excellent. Would recommend.

The apartment did smell a little musty when we first arrived, but probably just due to the nature of it being a rental apartment and not being occupied full time. My husband also badly hit his head coming in the rear entrance which is very low if you are tall. Maybe a sign for people to 'mind their head' would be useful?

Lovely light flat with good cooking facilities and a very comfortable big bed. Would recommend for a couple.

Apartment, decor, facilities, cleanliness

Quite a late check in at 1700, although we did manage to get in by 1600

The location was fantastic. We explored Harris and Lewis on the days we were there and then were able to leave the car at the apartment and walk into town for food and shops. The apartment was a great size for two. Very warm and comfortable. He communication between myself and host was excellent.

Clear instructions supplied in advance, which were entirely straight forward. Accessed apartment without a hitch. A reliable and failsafe method obviously used as a matter of course. Following the departure instructions enabled the next renter to access with ease

I cannot really fault the accommodation or facilities supplied. Everything needed was available. Coming from a city I was a little concerned about leaving the main entrances unlocked at night. However, this is more of a reflection on aspects of modern city living in England. Stornoway is not a busy city and all the better for it.

Well appointed, plenty of room. Good location and parking available. Well supplied kitchen for an extended stay. Good instructions for furnace , etc.
