Stornoway Apartment

The host was nice and easy to communicate with. The location was easy walking distance to food and other points of interest like the castle. The house was easy to find and an easy drive to the standing stones.

There was a musty smell upon entering the building. When we opened the door to our accommodation there was a strong perfume smell that was apparently to cover the musty smell of the house. The sheets were so highly perfumed we could hardly sleep. Our clothes smelled like the perfume and must for the rest of our trip (another two weeks). Even after washing them twice I can still smell the perfume. We booked as a family with a 7-year-old who was provided with the most horribly uncomfortable cot. It had a hard bar that went across his back. We tried to pad it with spare towels and blankets but it was bad. A mat on the floor would have been better. He isn’t a complainer but he was miserable.

As we were attending Hebcelt, it made soooooo much difference to be able to enter the property straight from the ferry into Stornoway around 2pm rather than the 1630 as previously stated. Thank you!!! The key code system worked well as if the two of us Bec are separated, the key was always in the box and either one of us could let ourselves in for a cuppa or a siesta!!

Stripping the bed at 0430 hrs this morning so that I could catch the 0600 ferry!!!

The location of the property, the facilities provides, and the ease of process by the hosts.

Very clean and comfortable. Loved that we could do a load of laundry. Check in was easy. Very nice to have room to relax and to prepare our own meals.

Would like a top sheet under the duvet as we find them too warm. The bed was quite soft….. not complaining but just letting you know our preferences. All in all a lovely place, thanks!
