"Remote and authentic cottage, tasteful mod cons."

8.0

This very isolated location suited our needs. The cottage was very authentic and charming, with appropriate decor features. Most of us slept very well.

The first shower room (one of two) was out of order. In a house of this age, noise can travel upwards, which caused some disturbance to the tranquility.

"Very enjoyable and comfortable stay in a place with real character"

Quaint venue. Good price. heating very effective

Windows need some maintenance (e.g. sash windows without weights) and loos need full blinds (but the place is very secluded)

"Very oldy wordly, did not feel clean or warm."

4.0

Had plenty of parking and the bedrooms had enough space for all of us.

When we arrived the cleaner was still there. Despite having enough sleeping space for 8, the living room could not sit more than 5 comfortably, so we used one of the bedrooms as a communal hang out space. The front room was very run down & old fashion. The kitchen had most things you would need, you could fit 6 chairs around the table and we cooked a nice dinner. The sink had taps that looked like outdoor hose taps, but worked fine and made it easy to do all the washing up. The 1st upstairs bathroom had cobwebs in the corners & was a bit run down. The toilet was located next to the window, which would not be a problem if the blind shut. However the blind was too short for the window and so all my friends in the car park could see me on the loo from outside. The first 2 bedrooms were decent. The first room you came too had two single beds, a dressing table, and a fireplace. One of the beds did have a bug in it when one of my friends got in it but okay other than that. The next bedroom had a double bed in, dressing table and wardrobe. Very run down looking/old fashioned but nice enough. Next was another double room BUT this room had a bathroom coming off of it, a small room with a sink and kitchen space, AND the 4th bedroom. So you had to go into this 3rd bedroom to get into bedroom 4. Bedroom 4 was a small room with a double bed. But you would wake up anyone in room 3 to get to room 4. Not that anyone in room 3 would be sleeping because it had a door in the room that led down some stairs and we assume into the home next doors kitchen. You could hear EVERYTHING! They were in their kitchen banging and clanking around till gone midnight. Fair enough it is their home but you could hear it all!! AWFUL room! The bathroom in that room had the bath in it. The bath however was peeling on the inside and didn't look very clean so we did not use. There was then a separate room next to the bathroom, that had a shower in.

"Lovely evening. Cotage was warm and cosy."

Loved this cottage. Perfect for our night away after going on the mid Norfolk polar express. Also the Communication with Lesley was great.

We lost electric when cooking breakfast. No fault to the owners. The weather was terrible 🤭
