Old Rectory - Scoulton

This our 2nd stay at this property and it still has the wow factor as a location and the property was ideal for the 3 of us. It had everything we needed for a base to explore Norfolk and we did not even get time to use the amazing gardens which this property has. Lesley was a great host and she even saved the day when we left some items behind.

We had a party to go too, and the location was very helpful.

Interesting old property with plenty of space, very rural position. Facilities were ok, and clean.

Location was an excellent base for travelling around Norfolk. So very quiet which was wonderful. The grounds were delightful for a stroll around and for sitting out in. This is an old property with character, so it's small in the downstairs kitchen and living room's but upstairs it's spacious. The beds were comfortable. The bathrooms were clean. Communication was very quick and informative and some walking routes were provided by the host, thankyou. We had a great stay and would use again.😊

Some friendly suggestions..... Add hand towels with the bath towels. A tea towel upstairs in the kitchenette. A hand rail at the 'top' of the stairs would be useful from a safety point of view. Needs hanging space/cupboard and draws for bedroom 2. Blind fixing fell down in bathroom 1 !! No hot water in kitchen and bathroom 1, but the back bathroom and shower rooms were fine. The hob had no 'indicators' on the dials so very difficult to use......safely. More than one bin-bag is needed for a group on a long stay please. There were a lot of cooking/baking tins, but no cereal bowls and we never did find the can-opener !! 😕Some of our group had issues charging their phones but plugs were fine when we got home 🤷🏼‍♀️???!! Lots of cobwebs and a spider in the cupboard !! A tea-pot, a clock and a recycling bin would be useful additions. The Rectory is adorable............. it could just do with some TLC 💝 Just a thought........put a hallway in upstairs to separate bedroom's 3 & 4 and turn the kitchenette into an en-suite....🤔 PS....apologies we forgot we left the milk in the fridge !!!

Property in a great location for the party we were attending.

Couldn’t gain access to the property at 3pm as the property hadn’t been cleaned so had to sit in the garden for nearly 2 hrs. When we did get access it was a rush for us all to get ready for the taxi picking us up at 6.20pm. When we did get access the floors were all really wet! Sitting room could only seat 5 people and table in kitchen 4. Not a great experience.
