"A short escape to a beautiful part of the world. Just what the doctor ordered!"

8.0

Beautiful and peaceful location for exploring the Peak District. The railway station was nearby as well as a local store, pub, chippy (Thurs - Sat). The property was equipped with everything we needed during our stay and the sheets were clean, smooth, and good quality! I loved the sitting out area, off of the living room.

The hot water supply to the bath/shower isn’t available between 10am and 4pm. This is made clear in the information pack so no unfortunate experiences but I would have liked a slower start on a couple of days, due to ill health. The sofas do the job but could be more comfortable.

"I would recommence for a short stay in the Peak district."

8.0

The location was quiet and perfect for walking. It was easy to gain entry and the apartment was well equipped.

The matress was a bit uncomfortable and you could feel the springs in places. The window above the door could have been cleaned.

"Brilliant stay in Chinley!! Lovely views."

9.0

Location was great lovely views from the little balcony and would be a lovely place to sit during good weather. There was lots to do within a short distance and if you like walking lots of paths and hill climbing. There was a pub and restaurant just up the road and a shop and chippy just across the road. We went to museum of childhood at Sudbury about an hour's drive but a great place for children on a rainy day it's a NT property so if you're a member it's free! Buxton isn't far away and has lots to offer there's a train station so you can easily get into Manchester or Sheffield if you need some retail therapy. We went to Eyam the plague village very interesting great museum and a lovely playground for the children only 20 mins away. There's really lots to do

The apartment had lovely comfortable beds in the bedrooms but the sofa bed not so much! My son slept on it for 3 nights and wouldn't have wanted any more but probably ok for children he's a 6' man. Lovely log burning stove with logs provided but the apartment was warm from the underfloor heating. Could do with a bit of updating particularly the kitchen blind. Small welcome pack but shop very near. All in all a great stay.

"Really nice apartment. Well appointed, spacious, clean, comfortable, and well equipped."

8.0

The apartment was really nice. Well appointed, spacious, clean, comfortable, and well equipped - pretty much all we needed for our stay, including free wi-fi. The covered balcony has comfortable chairs and a table so we could sit outside even in the rain. The wood burner in the lounge was delightful and I'm sure we could have had more wood if we had asked. The reason for our visit was for pre-Christmas visits to my Wife's family who all live locally, and the two minute walk to the village mini-supermarket, chippy, Indian restaurant, local cafe and pub would have been a boon had we been staying longer. We will definitely stay again (we tried to book again for the first weekend in January 2026 but, unsurprisingly, the apartment was already booked).

Minor niggle: The Welcome information sheet was excellent, but should include instructions on how to operate the thermostat at the top of the stairs for the overall apartment heating temperature (especially as it takes so long to take effect). This for guests who want to raise it (like we did) or lower it, rather than having to have the owner come round to explain it. Very minor niggle: We enjoy eating soups, stews, pasta dishes etc. so a few large soup/pasta bowls (as in 25cm or so diameter) would have been useful.
