"nice apartment and great value for money"

9.0

Very clean and nice flat. WIFI connection is good. Great location. Kitchen, toilet, shower all works fine. Absolutely good value for money!

The pillow is too hard and high for me, but the mattress and duvet are comfortable. The curtain is not dark. You cannot control the heating as the temperature is preset to 17-18 degrees. You need to make bank transfer of the deposit and send your photo id to the owner in order to get the passcode of the key. Considering the price, location and cleanness of flat, I am very happy with my stay.

lovely little property perfect for a short stay in the city

could’ve done with some more pillows, there were on,y two very plump hard ones I used the cushion to sleep on so a choice would’ve been ace.

"Good location. Clean. VFM."

Good location. Clean.

Would be helpful to have use of the fridge during a stay (especially if more than 1 night like ours).

"Passable"

5.0

- very well located - nice and cosy - easy to get in with keys in lockbox

- communication had some issues (maybe the language barrier) - to adjust the heating you have to contact the owner, you cannot manage it yourself in the apartment - damage deposit required to transfer to an unknown company account - you don't get the entire apartment, there are locked doors and the owner's stuff (including a locked washing machine), which is slightly misleading - the damage deposit was transferred back, however with a smaller amount deducted, without comment Overall it wasn't bad, but I'd think twice to go through again the above. OK for a short stay.

"A good location but not worth the stress"

5.0

The best thing about this accommodation is the location; it is close to very good restaurants and many of Edinburgh's wonderful attractions are within an hour's walk. The location is also quiet and safe.

The accommodation is small -- only one of the two rooms was accessible, meaning we had to spend all of our time in the bedroom or in the kitchen -- and in need of a good renovation. The entryway is dimly lit and smelly (although the stone steps have character), and the apartment smells damp, especially in the bathroom, where the drains are particularly smelly. The heaters and the microwave don't work, and the bed was very uncomfortable (hard in the middle/soft, sagging edges). Only two towels were supplied (which were hard to dry because the towel heater didn't work). Overall, the facilities were very basic for the price paid for staying at the property. However, the worst part of our stay was the £200 'damage deposit' that the property requires. Firstly, even though we sent proof of making this deposit to the property manager prior to departing home, she refused to give us the access code to the keybox because the 'funds weren't in her account', and therefore, she insisted that we pay a further £100 before she would supply the code. This cost us more money in fees, on top of the international transaction fees we paid for the £200 transfer. The situation got worse when we left the property. Even though we left the room clean and tidy, we received a message from the property management essentially accusing us of damaging a table. When we stated that we didn't do any damage, the property then claimed we only provided them with £185 and £95 for the 'damage deposit' and that this was all they would refund. To get the full deposits refunded, we had to involve Booking.com, who were brilliant. Then, to top off this debacle, we received a final message from the property management stating they had mistaken our payment of the 'damage deposit' for another guest's deposit, meaning all of the stress they caused had been unnecessary.
