Causewayside

We were met by Pete - who was very informative about not just the accommodation but also places to go to for food & drinks - entertainment and places to visits - the water, Beer & wine in the fridge were an unexpected bonus !

Great location. 10mins bus ride from Roal Mile. Plenty bars and restaurants within walking distance.

Only downside was the apartment only had one bathroom between 2 bedrooms. No deal breaker.

Very convenient for where I needed to be . Very clean and cosy.

Although car park available - no allocated parking bay and at times was very busy with no space available.

Great two bed apartment that was easily accessible to the city centre by bus which came every few minutes, or a 25 min walk. Very clean and tidy, and the host friendly and efficient. I would stay here again

Great location with only a 20 minute walk into the centre. Accommodation is modern and in immaculate condition and on ground floor. The fridge was well stocked by the host Pete. Would happily return.

This review is written from a combination of two different perspectives. Pete met my wife and me at check-in. He was extremely helpful with information about the property and everything that you would want to know about Edinburgh. He also provided refreshments in the refrigerator upon our arrival. He spent close to an hour with us before our friends arrived. He had to leave just as the couple we travelled with arrived. They had walked from Waverley Station (approximately 1 mile) while we chose to grab a cab. The walk from Waverley was slightly longer than the walks at two of our previous stays on this trip and the hills were much more prevalent, so their experience getting there was more fraught than ours. We had also thrown our bags into the room Pete showed us first, which was the larger of the two rooms. Which is the other callout I'd make sure you are aware of, the second bedroom is tight with regard to mobility. There is not much room between the foot of the bed and the wall. Amenities are great, there are groceries within a block and a wine shop just across the street, plus a lot of pub and restaurant choices. And, when you're not hauling luggage, the walk to the Royal Mile isn't too bad!

The only two issues any of us had with Causewayside was included in the "What did you like?" section. If you're walking with luggage, it's a pretty good haul. I'm sure if you're on a ScotRail pass, catching a bus is simple. My wife just wanted to get there after a hot train ride from Inverness, so we hailed the first cab. Our friends, unfortunately, had a BritRail pass (translation- buses in Scotland not included), and they walked and drew the small bedroom.

The location was great and it was clean and comfortable. We loved that Pete met us there and did a run through the property.
