Boutique 2BR On Royal Mile - Freestanding Bathtub

Beautiful apartment. It was nice to have some space to spread out in this two bedroom apartment.

First, the alley is a bit dingy. I thought the previous reviews were exaggerating. They are not. It would be fine if you lived here. But for tourists just passing through, you wouldn’t choose to go into this alley. Second, the property isn’t set up for travelers. The apartment buzzer to let people in from the alley didn’t work. The buzzer in the alley to let people know in the apartment you are there didn’t work. Only one set of keys exist, one for the alleyway door, one for the apartment. So once someone in the alley needs to come up, someone has to run down the 4 flights of stairs to let them in. You can’t leave the keys in the lockbox because you can’t get into the apartment without the apartment key. Another example of the apartment not being set up for travelers is the bathtub in the middle of one of the bedrooms. There is a bathtub but no table and chairs in the apartment to have a meal or play card games. There also are no paper towels supplied in the kitchen, and only one dish towel. When I asked if there were more dish towels, they said no, only one was provided. It’s a dish towel. How hard would it be to put a few more in the kitchen? There also are very few mugs/dishes/bowls provided. If you can’t find them, look in the dishwasher when you get there. I assumed they were clean. The bathroom sink is cute, but also not practical for visitors. Very easy to overflow. There is also a towel warmer that we couldn’t figure out how to work. Even the European with us couldn’t find how to turn it in. The toilet paper holder was broken. They said a part was being ordered but it gets broken weekly. WiFi is spotty, disconnects frequently. It worked once we reset the router. But it would disconnect often. We ended up just using our international data when we could get a signal. So while this property has a lot of potential, is a nice size, and looks beautiful, it’s not currently very practical.

Excellent location for walking & exploring the Royal Mile. Modern, clean 2 bed apartment.

No parking (but good instructions to park nearby), no elevator and all communication is online - very lengthy online instructions. One bathroom, no ensuite.

Location is brilliant right in the Heart of the city. A bit of a shables getting to the property as lots of industrial bins along the pathway which was a shame.

Everything was exceptional. Cleanliness, facilities location. Very modern and luxurious. Owner a pleasure to deal with and goes above and beyond where possible.

Great central location on the Royal Mile. Very comfy beds with lovely bedding. The owner went above and beyond to help us organise a driver who would also help with our luggage.

The decor is nice and modern but a little worn in places (toilet roll holder loose on wall, shower head blocked up a bit with limescale) so could do with a little TLC! Whilst we knew there was no lift, we didn't realise quite how steep the slope is down to the flat (and back up over cobbled paving) or that the stairs would be very smooth stone so quite slippery. Definitely tough with large suitcases or for elderly people so highly recommend keeping this in mind before booking or else organising for a driver to help with your bags upon arrival and departure.
