The Abbey Apartment

The Abbey Apartment was in an ideal location, central to all amenities. The apartment itself was extremely well equipped. It was so cosy and exactly what we were looking for. We wanted a quiet, chilled New Year and that's what we got. Reasonable price for 3 nights too!

Location: Very central for town centre. Able to park. Accomm: Very quiet, warm, comfy bed, WiFi, nice kitchen

The sitting room sofa! Ok but wouldn’t be suitable for older guests as it’s too low, too deep and not comfy at all. Shower room was clean but very tired - paintwork needs doing as it looks dirty -could be off putting. No lamp in bedroom- instead there’s a small torch!

Ruime en goed geoutilleerde keuken, hele comfortabele bank, rustige buurt. Prima appartement!

Kleine badkamer. Geen eettafel (eten in de keuken aan de bar).

Location was excellent for exploring Hexham on foot, so we could walk to restaurants and pubs in the evening. Parking was easy, but expect it would be difficult in high season. Beds were comfortable and kitchen modern and well equipped.

Lighting in the lounge was very poor, making reading difficult, especially in the evenings. Shower didn't work for first two days, as thermostat needed replacing, and vent axia was broken so bathroom got very steamy.

Kitchen would benefit from a few more cups and a spatula. More lamps in bedroom and sitting room would also be good. These are very minor points though!

The kitchen was very well appointed. Sofa and beds comfortable. Decor in bathroom could do with some attention.

All fine for our trip

Good size space, excellent location. We stayed for 8 nights while walking Hadrian Wall. Having kitchen to prep meals and pack snacks for day was handy. Laundry was necessary. Living room was super comfy and great for relaxing in the evening. Quiet neighborhood and we were always able to find parking on the street. The apartment was clean for the most part with exception of just a couple items listed below.

While we like the apartment, the beds and pillows were uncomfortable. Beds were too firm for our liking, they could use a mattress topper or replacement. The apartment was generally clean with exception of some dishes that we needed to wash upon arrival and the bathroom shower had some mold/mildew accumulated in shower area.
