Studio at Bastion Mews

A great, well furnished and equipped studio flat in the heart of Hereford. No parking, but loads of car parks within a very short walk.

Being in the centre, and close to night life, it was quite noisy in the early hours. But the owners clearly know this, and thoughtfully provide ear plugs. Also the double glazed windows are great.

The property was very close to the city centre

First of all the good side of the story: the apartment is nice,clean and very close to the city’s centre. But unfortunately the list of the negative stuff is longer: I can certainly start with the disgraceful sprung mattress…Very poor choice as it is unbelievably uncomfortable and hard to sleep on. I can consider my husband and I to be fit and healthy individuals, but because of the awful quality of that mattress we woke up in the morning with sore hips and definitely not rested. Another reason to not be cheerful is that the flat is not adequately soundproofed…Considering that is located on a busy street and that just in front of it there is a disco-pub/club, it was not difficult to understand that double glazing windows are absolutely not good enough to ensure that guests are guaranteed to sleep at night. Probably triple glazing is the only solution to the problem. It’s not asking for the moon, it’s just common sense. Last but not least, after having slept just few hours every night because of the noise,the lack of proper blinds to the windows makes you wake up at sunrise, around 5,30/6am in summer. In fact the windows are equipped with venetian blinds, that are unable to block the light in a proper way. Blinds must be able to offer a total protection against the brightness, which means that the room must be in the dark when the sun rises. I don’t think that this is asking for something unreasonable or for silly luxuries and expensive equipment. I don’t normally like to give negative feedback or reviews, but unfortunately this was my experience and I have just to report it for what exactly has been. I’ve seen other people negative comments and reviews reporting the same issues more than a year ago but nothing has been made to sort out the problems. I was fooled by the overall positive feedback when I choose this property for my stay, not realising that there was a lot of people complaining for the same issues that we faced. Do not feel to recommend it.

Everything was awesome! It was very central, the bed was comfortable, the check in was super easy!

Absolutely wonderful place. Spotless, modern, and central to Hereford city.
