Forest Farm Papplewick Nottingham - Spacious Self-Contained Rural Retreat!

Working late so needed peace and quiet with parking for a van,absolutely ideal-got there and tea coffee milk bread and a lovely Swiss roll waiting for us after a very long day was a lovely touch

Nothing to dislike

The peaceful location. Close to Park Hospital ( which we needed to be close to) Beautiful villages close by with walks, cafes and good food pubs. Newstead Abbey is a few minutes away and well worth a visit The apartment was exceptionally clean and had everything you need for your stay. Nice touches like blankets for chilly evenings. It even has its own enclosed lawned area to sit outside A selection of welcome treats were left for us on arrival which was a lovely thoughtful thing to do. We would definitely recommend staying here it was a very comfortable apartment with a home to home feel in a peaceful location.

Nothing it was perfect for us

Perfect location for an event we were attending. Easy to find, thanks to clear directions given. Great communication from the hosts Eddie and Kim. Parking directly outside the property, so very easy to access. Gorgeous, quirky cottage, very homely, tastefully decorated and immaculately clean. Plenty of kitchen equipment/utensils etc. A lovely welcome pack (hot cross buns included!) on arrival. Very comfortable king sized bed. Great view from the bedroom window. We absolutely loved it!

The only suggestion would be to have a curtain or blind to pull across the front door.

Lovely remote relaxing place to stay

We spent a week here over Christmas and loved the quiet location and the quirky layout of the property. It was cosy, warm and comfortable. We spent most of our time in the open plan kitchen, lounge and dining room on the first floor with bedroom and shower room off it. There was a lovely lounge and second toilet on the ground floor but we just preferred upstairs as everything was on one level. It was spotless and had everything that was needed to cater for yourselves. We didn’t meet our hosts but they were on hand, easy to message and offered assistance if we needed anything. It’s a perfect couple’s getaway. The sunrise on a couple of occasions in the morning was beautiful. Thank you Kim & Eddie

The lane to the property is a little dodgy to navigate potholes especially in the dark but no different to surrounding lanes and roads. Also, the lock box to get the key and gate fob was fiddly in the dark but we had good instructions from the owner which we printed and kept handy so we found it easier.

Spotlessly clean, great information from host about arriving, well-appointed accommodation and indeed, very spacious. The quality of everything is excellent and it feels like a farmhouse that you can live and relax in, rather than a show home where you are on edge. There was a lovely welcome pack which included cake, clear instructions about how to work the heating, the mattresses were so comfortable that my sister asked me to find out the make from the host, sofa with foot rests, chairs and table, plenty of coasters, fully equipped kitchen, coffee machine, plenty of space downstairs for boots and coats and then upstairs for the living areas. I don't think I have ever stayed anywhere as quiet (my ideal) - there were not even any cooing pigeons - and this was exactly what was needed for our visit. Easy reach of some lovely walks as well as plenty of local places to visit - and loads of info at the accommodation in a folder. You definitely need a car but this is obvious when you book somewhere rural. Ideal for a retreat too as there are no interruptions and it's light, clean and airy.

The Wi-Fi wasn't always powerful but this was not important as there is network coverage and it was made clear in the description. Nothing not to like.

Visiting family in the area, so it was an ideal location for us. Very peaceful and beautiful location. Clearly well looked after, very clean and comfortable.

Quite a few pot holes on the track up to the property but it is a working farm so this is to be expected.

Excellent location, beautiful, peaceful setting. The hosts were very considerate and thoughtful. I love the cute details and décor, absolutely beautiful.
