"it will do for a short stay"

Location. Easy to catch a bus nearby or get something to eat

People outside our door smoking weed in the breezeway. Washer but no dryer. Bad water pressure. Lots of brochures and local info were old and needed to be updated. Hauling suitcases up 2 flights of stairs.

"A* location but interior a little frayed round the edges"

The location was great - old town, castle view, places to eat all around

It felt like the property could use a little TLC. We are based in Germany and often holiday in Germany, Austria, Italy, etc. and even the basic holiday properties there tend to be a little more loved. It’s just little details like rust on the toilet brush and darkened silicon at the bottom of the shower, dog-eared papers in the information folder. Printed notices stuck on a kitchen cupboard. Shabby can be chic but sometimes it can also be just a tad triste.

Excellent central location. Comfortable secure accommodation. Friendly host. Lots of local information leaflets/books/maps of the area. Complimentary fudge!

Bath towels weren't much bigger than hand towels (I personally like to wrap the bath towel around me while I sit and dry my hair). It would have been nice to have a welcome pack (coffee, tea, sugar, milk) to make a hot drink after our long journey.
