Location and spacious

I smelt of smoke and stale sleep from previous occupants or from other apartments. We opened the windows which helped.

The location is great. Short distance from the centre of Filey. The path from The Bay complex to the beach is great and a short distance. The actual complex is lovely, really quiet and well kept. The size of the property was great. As a family with a just turned 3 year old, we come with lots of things including a balance bike and pram, so having so much space was great. The main bedroom bed was really comfy and the parking just outside was fab. The apartment was clean.

The property had elements that were a bit tired and needed some attention. The bottom panel of the fridge was broken so had sharp edges, the inside shelf of the fridge door was cracked so couldn’t hold a full shelf of items without dipping and potentially breaking completely. There were edges of kitchen cupboard doors hanging off which were also sharp. The bath plug got stuck on our first night which meant we couldn’t drain the water out. I messaged the owner via booking.com and was asked to “prise the plug out with a knife as no one was available to come out and take a look until Monday” (we had already tried getting it out with a knife before I messaged but the whole plug seemed broken). It was a shame we were met with this response as our 3 year old has a bath before bed and I picked this property because it had a bath but we couldn’t use it after our first night. Just feel there are a few things that need some attention - nothing major but parts were tired and needed fixing/looking at. We noticed that someone in the building was smoking inside which meant the apartment was filled with cigarette smell when we came back from a day out. I don’t know whether smoking is permitted inside but it smelt like someone was doing it constantly and directly outside our main door which was not ideal.

Lack of outside seating (every other property had this). Lack of bedding (bed stripped but no bedding in apartment ) Dirty towels left from last guests. Contact number for hosts was ‘invalid number’- could not contact them. Bed springs poking out of single bed mattress. Shower not functioning. No loo roll/washing up cloth/ liquid/ bin bag. Living room rug covered in dog hair. Very very poor

Parking was a problem but the whole.place was busy Maybe allocating Parking per property

Squeaky doors, no shelf space in bedrooms or bathrooms, taps very confusing, shower heads hopeless, very difficult to find

Clean and tidy, good location. Good WiFi connectivity.

A little hard to find, maybe a larger name on the window or something. The plates and cups hadn’t been washed properly from the previous guests. No storage as each cupboard was taken up with cleaning items and random things. Only draws were available to use. There was a warm Costa coffee left in the double room, this made me wonder if the room had been cleaned. Only 3 seats when it’s for 4 people, extra arm chair would easily fit. Wanted to use the washer, but the button was pushed in and needed a manual to work the microwave. Not the owners fault, but upstairs apartment was so loud, they need to put a rug down.
