The property was the perfect location for us, as we were visiting an exhibition at the University. We were given complimentary tea coffee and milk, which was ideal, as we were staying for 1 evening, so we didn't need to buy our own.

I don't mind paying deposits, but this was not listed in the information of the property before booking. It was only mentioned in the reviews. I was not expecting the deposit to be so much for 1 night, and I was not happy, as it took nearly 3 weeks to get the deposit back. The host did not seem that bothered about getting the money back to me and Booking.com customer service was not helpful at all. There is damaged/broken furniture throughout the property, the dining table, sofa-bed, 1 bedroom had a broken wardrobe and chest of drawers in it. Most of the mugs in the kitchen were chipped and there was not one real teaspoon in the place, we did find one plastic one.

Extremely disappointing stay! we reached and there was not even soap in toilets. Furniture was broken. It was as if owner has picked stuff from a dump and left it there. no instruction where will b wifi password. And worst no way to contact the owner. the very next day we called for iron and a hair dryer. Waited three days never got it.

"run down and amenities are not as described. you have to battle to get your damage deposit back too!!"

the location

the place was very run down with broken furniture! towels provided had holes in them, the floors and the sofa bed were dirty. we had to go to the shop nearby to buy paper cups as they only had 2 glasses. out of date milk was left in the fridge. check in was at 3pm however, we couldn’t get in until 5:30pm. We were not provided with a WiFi code. They say in their description that you have use of the garden….. that’s okay if you want to sit on a patch of grass which was approx a foot tall! This place really isn’t as described and I am glad we were just using this as a stopover before driving home in the morning! I also did not have my damage deposit returned until over a week after my stay despite being told it would be returned on the Monday after the room had been checked after we left on the Sunday. I called on the Monday to be told it would be returned within 7 working days of check out (Booking.com states 7 days after check out, not working day!). I called again and sent over my bank details the following Monday to be told I’d have to wait another 7 days! at this point I escalated this with Booking.com and, after chasing again the next day, my £250 was finally returned! This is my first time leaving a bad review but I felt I had to as certainly felt miss old with this place!
