The history and interior decoration of the apartment. The winding staircase is steep but steeped in history. Shower was lovely and hot.

Better coffee - a French press or Nespresso type machine would be an added bonus.

The wallpaper and interiors were well done and a terrific artistic nod to the history of the location. The location was excellent, the castle not far at all and the writers museum at your doorstep!

I would’ve liked a few more staples in the larder and milk for tea.

The flat is absolutely lovely. Charming decoration, comfortable furniture, absolutely spotless, and well equipped. The location is fantastic, right on the Royal Mile, but the apartment is still quiet and cozy. I stayed two nights and didn't want to leave. I hope to stay again in the future!

A very minor complaint... I chose to stay in a flat so that I could cook most of my meals. While the kitchen was exceptionally well equipped with pans/utensils, some cooking oil, salt and pepper, basic pantry staples would have been really helpful.

Loved the heritage and history of this apartment. The location right in the heart of the old town was perfect for accessing all the places we were going. We used the ice cream tubs for some free ice cream downstairs on the main lawnmarket street, it was delicious thank you.

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like. The radiator behind the couch didn’t seem to heat up at all, maybe just needs looked at.

Clean, comfortable bed, cute decor, great location!

We were aware of the Spiral staircase , it just took planning to limit the amount of times you go up and down! And of course with luggage… a bit challenging!

Location was excellent - close to Castle and on Royal Mile. Historic building was charming.

This apartment is four floors up a spiral stone staircase. Although this adds to its charm, I would advise anyone with mobility issues or lots of luggage to take note.

Brilliant location and very comfortable. Both the sofas and the bed were really comfy. Great size rooms and good facilities in kitchen and living room.

Pub next door can be very loud - Saturday night especially. We couldn’t figure out how to switch the heating on and the instructions in the folder weren’t that helpful.
