Aaron's Bothy

Our stay was exceptional! We were greeted by Hector who was so friendly! It was very icy on the road and paths and he was already outside sprinkling salt on the paths so we could enter the building safely. He showed us around and told us where everything is situated, and he even stocked up with ham, cheese, butter, milk, eggs, bread, lots of canned goods, pasta etc. This was very kind of him, and anything that doesn’t get used goes to the local food bank, which was lovely to know! If we seen him when we are going to the car in the mornings, he would ask if we were enjoying our stay and if there was anything he could do for us. The place itself was so cozy! It was furnished with everything we could have needed, had lots of kitchen utensils, and for TV there is even Sky! The bed was so comfortable, and there were lots of blankets in the house if needed. Towels and even new slippers were provided too! The location was absolutely perfect for us, we travelled by car all around Skye and found it really easy. It’s only a 5-10 minute walk into Portree as well which makes it easy for shopping etc. The view from outside as well on the street was amazing! We 100% would stay here again, and I would highly recommend anyone to stay! If we could have extended our booking we really would have. Thanks for such an amazing time!

Nothing at all - everything was perfect!

Close to the centre which makes easy to explore surround area, house was clean with fridge filled with all essentials, comfy bed, parking space just outside the door. Great communication from the owner. Owners were very welcoming, messaged with great information, whilst we were there responded quickly to messages. Highly recommended.

This was truly a home away from home. I do not even know where to start :) The hosts provided detailed instructions on how to reach the place (better than Google maps) and ended up collecting me from the bus stop. There was a nice welcome gift. There are so many thoughtful and cosy touches by the hosts throughout the house, one can tell it is furnished and cared for with lots of love. One of the messages I got before arrival said there were “basic kitchen supplies”, but in reality it was fully stocked! I could cook every evening! A great selection of books on Skye, nature and hiking. Bed was so comfortable! I am definitely planning on coming back! I truly enjoyed it, thank you Julie and Hector!

Great little place with everything you could need for a short stay. Very comfortable bed and living area, and a kitchen stocked with a whole range of supplies - they went above and beyond in providing fresh ingredients and supplies. Well equipped with WiFi, Sky TV, a good selection of local guidebooks, fully equipped kitchen and even a washing machine in the shed outside. For a small structure in a cold and wet November week it was well heated and wasn't at all cold. Great location being just a short walk down into Portree/Port Righ, which is nicely situated on the island to get about and see the sights, with some great mountain terrain and waterfalls in the north of the island being particularly close.

Nothing major. As other reviews have mentioned, the cutlery drawer is a little hidden - we found it after a brief search, but it could perhaps use a label to make it easier to find?

very unique self contained living module. comfortable, very clean, enjoyable. the owner came over very quickly to assist with heat adjustment.
