Highview House Redcar-Seaview Apartments

Nothing, it was disgusting.

1. The sheet for the sofa bed was unwashed. It smelt bad, had cigarette burns and had brown stains that looked fresh (ie not washed since made) 2. There was no lightbulb in living room 3. The bathroom has black mould 4. The apartment smells - someone has smoked in there at some point 5. There was a duvet cover for the sofa bed but no duvet Once the manager brought a light bulb and replacement sheet (after a 30 min wait) 6. The sheet offered also smelt stale and was raggy and had hair on. The manager said that was the only other option, shrugged and walked off. 7. Once we had light and saw the sofa I was disgusted we even sat on it. There are many dubious white stains. We were unable to stay there as we needed two beds and the sofa bed was unacceptable in terms of cleanliness so we left in less than two hours (once we got a lightbulb and could see properly we were disgusted and left). I was travelling with a child and the flat was just unclean and while they advertise as being non-smoking - from the cigarette burn on the sheet and the smell, there have obviously been smokers in there and it has not been properly cleaned and aired since. We were fortunate to be able to get a last minute booking elsewhere even though it was late at night. I have complained via Booking.com but have had no response.

It was near to the race course..

The noise from the pubs across the road was awful. So didnt sleep until 3 am..Unfortunately your sofa is unfit for sitting on. Even if you put a throw on it wouldn't look as dirty and we could at least have sat on it. The wardrobe had no place to hang clothes and was very old and unsightly. The bathroom could have done with shower gel. There was only one knife to eat with.

Really good location, we were on the top floor which had some pretty steep stairs but we managed them fine. Access was using a digital key and as we are both technically challenged we were a bit worried but once we got the hang of it we didn’t have any problems. The flat was spotless and had everything we could need, could even see the sea. TV had loges of options if you needed them, bed was comfortable shower nice and hot. We contacted the owner and he got back to us straight away great customer service throughout the booking process. Would definitely stay again.

Nothing to like. It was absolutely dreadful.

The apartment hadn't been cleaned. Urine all over the toilet seat and in the toilet. Hair on the smelly unwashed bedding, toddler handprints all over the tv. Walls crumbling. Mouldy bathroom. Very worn carpet. Dirty oven. Place was absolutely disgusting. Stayed in the apartment no more than half an hour due to how filthy it was. Felt like I was going to catch chlamydia tbh! Owner said that he would give a full refund. Then has done nothing but ignore me. No refund. No apology. Nothing. Spoke to booking.com and the refund they talked about was pathetic.Absolutely awful. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE

Using codes of phone to get in .. was locked out a few times with crack heads on the step .. but the host let me in once I rang him my phone died once and I struggled down loading the app , my partner lost his phone was a chew on one the last day as was stuck .. if we had keys would of been less stress .. I had to be in before 11 so I could get in .. but apart from Redcar drunks and druggies on the step which I’d argued with a few times ( she’d been sitting there for 25 years but I couldn’t care less my kids grandkids didn’t need to climb over crack heads as my son was frightened at one point and my grandkids my fella nearly remove one bloke physically .. but apart from that it’s was wicked .. place itself was mint host is easy going to its the location and towns riff raff that’s the problem and lack of keys

Great tidy apartment, good location, had facilities to cook too.

Steep narrow staircase leading to the top apartment and one of the bedroom windows didn't close properly so was quite noisy with the wind.

The location was central but that posed problems with pubs been nearby, because there was people always sat drinking etc on the steps of the entrance to apartment, they didn’t move for us even when asked politely, not something I want to deal with when I’ve no knowledge of the area. This all made me feel slightly uneasy knowing each time I went back to the property people would be sat there, it was intimidating. Whilst I understand this is out of the owners control, maybe a gate or the likes could be put against the railings as a deterrent. Some parts of the property were clean but others were just unloved and it needed some attention, like a deep clean would have improved this. It did have most things that was stated on the itinerary but the tv wasn’t the best it wouldn’t always connect and would have posed a problem if we stayed in the apartment longer.

The bathroom door was dirty with finger prints and other various marks on it and the lock was not working properly. The bath had no taps and the plug in the bath wasn’t the best it kept getting stuck. The room carpet wasn’t very clean it had other people hairs on it. Some parts of the carpet was wearing away so there was spiky bits sticking out where I presume gripper would go ( we had to put something to cover these areas so the child who was with us didn’t hurt his feet) The sofa bed didn’t smell too pleasant. There was paint peeling off in various places throughout, mainly window sills. Whilst I did have a conversation with the owner previously about an extra bed that did state you could request a free extra bed, there was not one available, I was told there was a sofa bed which I was already aware of l, but there was 2 female adults that needed both the bed and the sofa bed, so we needed an extra child bed ( if this is not available it should be taken off the description on the booking site)

Very convenient location. From the kitchen/living room you can the water and windmills. From the bedroom a view of hills behind the neighborhood. I slept like a baby because of the amazing cross breeze and woke up to the sound of seagulls in the morning. The owner was so thorough with directions, even made instructional videos, and quick to respond to any questions. Super nice guy!

Great location, very close to the beach and seafront amenities. Bus stop right outside the apartment, which is perfect for transport if you don't want to drive. There are many places to eat in or takeaway around the apartment. Nice walk on the seafront and a lovely park, if you have children

The apartment is very close to a number of pubs, and this could be very nosiy on an evening. Pubs do have music on very loud until early hours and this was slightly annoying for us.
