Alexander House

Lovely apartment, very nicely furnished and super comfortable.

Beautiful location, lovely apartment with comfortable sofas. The bed was hard to get out of as it was especially comfortable with lovely down pillows. We slept in late as it was so cosy. The high ceilings were beautiful as was the rest of the decorations. The town itself it's fantastic with everything so close by. The peacocks were a surprise to us and made the experience magical.

The hot water was turned off when we arrived, even once it was turned on it was difficult to run a hot bath. We don't have a bath at home so we're particularly looking forward to this. The plug in the bathroom let's out water. There is a coffee machine but it's one that requires pods and we didn't want to buy a whole box of them just for the weekend so didn't end up using it. We also couldn't get the hot water to work in the kitchen so had to boil the kettle to do the washing up.

The location is great, close to shops and eateries in historic Corsham. It's a good size inside. It was relatively cool inside during the heatwave. Had WiFi.

Flat 6 is not especially clean, bathroom looks like it's never seen bathroom cleaning products, the place is dusty, in need of TLC. The outside entrance is full of weeds, cigarette ends. The sofa is not comfortable. There were only 4 teabags and 2 sachets of coffee provided (one was decaf). Nothing to hang towels on in bathroom. The hot water only dribbles out of taps in kitchen and bathroom.

The dining room chairs were not comfortable to work on

Code provided well in advance - I was in flat 4 this time (which is on the second floor) - Alexander House is central to the shops, bus stops and the meeting place of Springfield Campus for the walking festival - There is a local butcher and coop, and the bus stops are about 3 minutes away

Flat is looking a bit tired and could do with some refurbishment and this upgrade could mean better value for money - the entrance will always look tired because it is the access to all 8 flats and that is up to the management committee to sort out and refurbish on a regular basis - could do with a folder of internet code/emergency numbers plus any thing that may need immediate attention for the maintenance or cleaning staff. There is limited self catering accommodation in Corsham so there is potential to develop this further (or say what to do with waste if you are there for some time
