Elegant 2 BR Apartment in Historic Cambridge

I have stayed in a number of holiday lets, and this one felt like I was entering someone's flat. Cupboards had open jars etc and various items that had been used. Said breakfast provided - it was not.

The property was excellent, the previous reviews and pictures don’t really do it justice. It was spotlessly clean, had excellent facilities - even a dishwasher! Very comfortable and we had a better nights sleep than we do at home, the mattress was amazingly comfortable. It was quiet and a in a perfect location to explore the local area.

There was nothing to moan about. The only slight issue was getting into the building when we first arrived, the trade button was broken so had to rely on other neighbours to let us in (but this is not the fault of the host). Once we had the keys, this problem was instantly solved.

Expired products for breakfast,milk was opened no butter , flat wasn't clean. No instructions on how to use the oven. I asked for a refund however I haven't received one. Coffee pods are not compatible with the provided coffee machine.

Quiet place, a clean warm flat, all amenities are working, nice breakfast, parking space

The pillows are thin, probably a personal preference to be thick

It was so so, the kitchen facilities were ok for cooking and the rooms were OK.

There were dirty towels left in the bathroom, we didn't have enough body towels and only one face towel was provided to us. There were also expired products in the fridge. The coffee pod provided didn't fit in the coffee machine so we couldn't use the coffee machine.

How this place got the rating it has is beyond. it was dirty, unloved and just a 'rental'. The bed was awful and sunk in the middle. was going to try the spare bed (two bed apartment) and that was softer and squeaker! The host left NO instructions on how things in the apartment works. It has some clever ideas re wiring but you had to suss that out for yourself! Constant draft coming through the windows, and one you cant even close! If you're staying in the winter keep warm with the electric heaters!
