The Fairways

The property knew the balconies were being re-done and the door was locked shut, this was not advised to us. This meant the balcony furniture was locked out and unusable to us. The upstairs shower is unusable as the shower hose leaks all the water before it reaches the head. There were missing facilities (that are listed) including a hairdryer and slippers. Due to the metal joins at the flooring with loose screws we needed the slippers/foot protection so we had to go and buy the missing facilities. There was no welcome pack to tell us how to use parts of the property and there was no response from sending messages. I should note the message was read as a member of staff referenced the message but did not resolve the faults.

There was a smell of musk/damp a upon arrival, loose fitted carpet. No end tables to rest drinks on. The balconies with Seaview were unaccessible and locked shut. The issues with balconies were known but not told to us. The tea/coffee maker was just a standard kettle. The "large" beds were 2 single beds zipped together with no mattress topper so you could really only sleep on 1 side or other. The mattresses were very uncomfortable and several had springs were all but protuding. Awful sleeps due to lack of comfort on the beds. Upstairs bathroom tap is loose and squint making it awkward to use and downstairs bedroom curtain pole wasn't on firm so we were scared to open/close curtains. Zero sense of luxury as dining table chairs are hollowed at the bottom meaning you all but fall throw when you sit on them. Overall awful accommodation

The location was stunning and the staff were friendly. The accommodation was clean and well equipped kitchen.

There was no hot water in the hand basins. The showers were a disappointing trickle, one of which didn't work at all, the water came out everywhere bar the shower head. There were no towels in one of the rooms. Could do with a little attention to bring it back to its former glory. We only stayed one night after a charity kayak from Ireland, so it was fine, but if staying for longer would definitely need attention.

We didn't like anything at all about the accommodation apart from the view from the front door when leaving .

Entrance no coat hanging facilities scruffy table. First floor, bathroom door scrapes on floor, has to be pushed hard from halfway open. Shower hose leaked so badly it was unusable. No hand wash in both bathrooms or kitchen Dining room scruffy table, no control to boiler. No instructions for boiler. Kitchen, no test date on fire extinguisher and blanket. Very badly fitting washing machine door. Loose and broken tiles on kitchen floor. Lounge, loose and very sharp carpet cover strips. Carpet does not fit under bin. Door to 1st floor balcony where a table and 4 chairs were was locked and we could not open to access them. TV did not work ,no instructions , plus 2 loose cables from Sky box. 2nd floor bathroom, sink tap loose , plug did not work, shower head attached to wall should have had 2 screws holding it only had bottom screw so span and fell off during shower. Screen seal perished so soaked floor. Extractor fan did not work. Bedroom rear no locks for external doors. Only 2 double sockets in room both behind the bed so inaccessible unless you move the bed. The hot water throughout the apartment was not very hot at all. The toilet seats in both bathrooms did not fit were loose and wobbly. There were no hangers or clothes pegs or wardrobes to hang clothes More on the kitchen the kicker boards beneath the cupboards fell off and laid on the floor. Only one small cupboard for shopping We were reliably informed by cleaning staff that the locked balcony doors the leaking shower and loose toilet seats etc had been reported a number of months ago. Still not fixed. Ian came from The Mount Stewart hotel but failed to fix/rectify or sort any of our problems. Informed us that because we were only there for 3 nights nothing could be done. When I consider the fact we have paid you £435:60 for only 3 nights at the 4 star Fairways Apartment, I am stunned at the quality of the property. Truly terrible. We have used Booking.

The size of the property was great also the view from the front windows was special

The apartment was very nice. In a lovely location

Quite a few things wrong considering the cost for one night. Beds uncomfortable. Shower didn’t work properly. Very loose bathroom tap on sink. Tv didn’t work properly. No basics like soap or washing up liquid.

Very spacious accommodation. Beautiful views. Ideal for a family getaway.

Sofas were not the comfiest. That’s just a very small negative.

The host and and other staff honestly couldn’t have been more helpful, the views to wake up to were amazing

I don’t think there was anything I could fault. Even down to arriving late at night someone was on hand to help with the boiler nothing was to much trouble for dianne and Vanessa
