Madge House Ashbourne

Compact, nicely decorated apartment. Situated on the edge of Ashbourne town centre with pubs, eateries and shops on your doorstop. The apartment has good sound proofing so traffic noise is minimal.

The location was excellent.

It smelt damp and musty. No welcome pack although there was supposed to be one. No coffee pot- I contacted to the owner who said it had been broken and the cleaner was supposed to have replaced it!!Suggested that we buy one and they would reimburse! As it was 17:30 on a Saturday evening this was not possible.

Lovely decorated apartment right in the centre of Ashbourne. Milk and a victoria sponge on arrival was a nice touch. Easy access and fantastic amenities.

I would have loved a coffee machine of some kind!

The ground floor apartment is in an interesting historic property, right in the centre of the town. It’s been decorated and furnished in an attractive, comfortable way and everything was neat and clean and safe and secure.

The drop-off, pick up keys, parking etc process was made more stressful by the extensive and confusing road works affecting the town centre - not the owners’ fault of course. By the end of our short stay we had sussed it all out and checking out was straightforward! The front door to the street was initially rather reluctant to open - it needs a hefty push/kick as soon as the code has been entered. Due to the historic nature of the building and the north-facing aspect, we found it a little cold, dark and musty on arrival. Perhaps the heating could be on a timer?
